Miguel Chua: I absolutely loved the episode and your reaction, Roger! I’m very thankful that MAPPA stepped up and took on this huge project when no one else did. It sucks a lot that they were only given 8 months to work on it on top of a pandemic. That said, I won’t deny that I was honestly a bit disappointed at the massive use of CGI for titan fights. I don’t even think the CGI was bad at all. It’s actually good, almost Studio Orange level even. But to me, 3D models simply lack that weight and punch to it that I would’ve liked to see as these literal giants duke it out and considering that this is the most awaited final arc of such a monumental series. I just wish we had gotten hand drawn animation as that would’ve made a lot of these scenes much more impactful imo. I’d even say that I think most, if not all, of us wish that it was done in glorious 2D but due to the circumstances, I know it couldn’t be helped, which really sucks. To clarify, I’m not blaming the staff and animators at MAPPA at all. More than anything, I blame whoever it is that gave them the atrocious deadline in the first place. I’m simply an AOT fan who absolutely loved the episode but is nonetheless sharing his honest opinions on how specific scenes looked due to CGI.

Justin John: So many people are now not criticizing this episode at all. Sometimes it is good to criticize. I am a manga reader so i know this episode was rlly trash. I know it ain't mappa's fault but yeah the production houses should know that mappa animators need more time and the only way to let them know is that everyone should boycott AOT right no. Mappa should be given there time to animate and then release it. This is exactly what happened to cyberpunk, the producers didn't give them much time and the final product was full of bugs and glitch. FUCK waited 3 yrs for this shit(not blaming mappa). I recommend anyone to read manga its 100 times better than this anime and that i swear. The main point is that the animation is ruined so much in these early episodes so i can't imagine what will happen in chapter 120+. Again i am not blaming mappa, But yeah we need to boycott watching aot for now so that producers may give aot more time to be animated. And if someone says i am being toxic, well i am not because i am just saying facts. if nobody points out the faults then nothing would be good.

Infinite TK - 無限数列: CGI is what it is, we all know since the trailer that changes were on the way and for 6 months, it was impossible not to stumble upon a thread explaining all the difficulties from wit studio that have carried over mappa (way worse in fact). Moreover, since episode 1, we had to adapt to it and it is totally fine. And most of the cuts here in CGI are really fine - 3/4 shots betoken the difficulties of the production but that is it. Some cuts are really amazing and they even synchronized both gabi's scream and the canons shooting eren with the drums of the ost. They already did something akin to this in episode 1 (canons firing the mindless titans and reiner) + in episode 5 with the ost shuting itself two times in a row when Willy delivers a "truth". It is amazing to notice and feel. The sound design of the odm gear is still phenomenal too. I really love how they even more depict the assault as a complete theatrical stages - everything is staged to kill, damage, and attack liberio. Gabi is always on the ground, with low angles shots while undergoing Eren's massacre and then Sasha's kills. You can feel the amount of rage that is swelling up more and more like Eren in S1 and it never stops, the scouts are higher and higher in the sky, never on the ground. They have overcome the order of magnitude from the titans and emulate the same effects of crushing them while being so tall in the sky - even defeating titans shifters like it was nothing. The threat are within themselves now with that Solo Ronin Eren. It truly is a reenacting of Hamlet and the reversal of everything, our beloved protagonists never have been so well-named - the devils of Paradis! Hype to see futures episodes and reactions from you. And of course the end of the manga soon 🤗

Cloudwolf: The only problem with the CGI is the frame rate of most of the scenes, some scenes have perfect frame rates but most of them have "too realistic" frame rate. The texturing/material of the 3D models are perfect, flat and looking like anime, except for 1 shot close to the Attack Titan head where the hair looked 3D.

Reno Vasquez: Roger im sorry but this CGI is legit horrendous compare to previous seasons. That fight was so clucky and lacked weight. which through off the tension and not close to the 2D animation WIT got us accustomed to previous seasons. As someone who has waited quite a while for this to be animated MAPPA dropped the ball. Wit easily elevated every scene they animated with masterful direction, art, animation and music choice. MAPPA so far has proven to be inferior in every aspect and now the writing is the soul reason this season is keeping me engage. This is so bad compared to previous seasons and THIS IS THE FINAL SEASON, you expect FOR THE BEST they have to offer for the last season. It's plan disappointing.
