@bpsitrep: As a kid growing up in the 60's/70's I watched a lot of ST:OS, then the movies, then TNG/DS9/V.....OS was the best because it was original. TNG was good, DS9 jumped the shark with the Dominion. V was okay but just put the same villains in different make up. Then came ST: D and out of gate, you changed the Klingons and I immediately lost respect and interest in this version. Now seeing this ad for the new season....it looks and sounds JUST LIKE HALO. And I'm sure there will be CRT, DEI around every corner.

@gregge777: Yeh....nah....after the last series, which I made the mistake of buying, I'll not be rushing to watch this one. As a trekky for 40+ years I never thought there'd be a series that I would finally give up on, but this is the one. It peaked at the end of series 2, probably because of Pike, Spock, etc, and a mighty fine space battle, but it has been downhill ever since. There is such a thing as losing the story to character development, or in this case character deterioration 🤮

@danielhill37: I'm going to take some flak for this, but I'm not sad to see it end. I am a fan of Star Trek, and have been for 50yrs. I felt Disco season 1 had a lot of promise, but every season since has made me less interested. It's a good cast, has great visuals, glad it's filmed (mostly) in my home town's studios - but something just never really felt right about it's direction to me. I do not say this is a "bad show", I say only that it did not satisfy *my* Star Trek wants, and what it did revisit, didn't sit well with me (Klingons). I would sum it up as: it's a good sci-fi show, but it's not (again, to me) good Star Trek 🤷‍♂ Still, I have watched every episode, twice in fact, and will watch the series finale season. But I won't miss it. I appreciate it has it's fans, and I am sincerely glad there is a base that enjoys it, and talks about it - because ultimately, that's how we keep Star Trek ( *any* Star Trek!) progressing and returning in the years to come. Paramount: please put the budget towards expanded and continued seasons of Strange New Worlds, because *that* is the Star Trek I've been waiting for! 🖖
