@johnmorris1009: I feel like I'm starting to suffer from HOTD fatigue. I liked the first season more, because it felt like something was building and because we were just getting to know the characters, the slow pacing seemed to flow better. It felt like the story was being skilfully constructed. Season 2 seems to have been going slow just for the sake of it so far. It's also not been expanding enough on certain characters. When Rhaenys died, I didn't feel particularly sad or gutted about it. She had a personality, but always seemed a bit disagreeable and like a side show character. Compared to some of the GOT characters, the HOTD characters seem to be often missing complexity. We get lots of slow episodes, with lots of fancy dream sequences of Daemon and lots of female character scenes that constantly hint at a women's rights agenda in the background of the show. There's not enough character building and background.
