@basti5231: These comments make it seem like GoT was an action show in it's prime with a huge battle happening every episode, when there were really only two, at most three episodes each season with something big happening. But somehow when HotD does it, it is boring? Either it's cognitive dissonance or you just need something to complain about.

@MaCome4631: Yes, the series is clearly different from the books. Good. Otherwise, there would be no need for script writing, it would be a book already written, now simply put into image. Here, we have another story, with the same characters, that drift from the book cannon. This is wondrous ! If you want the book, you can go read it. The series is different. The series, and the movies, and the video games, are always different from the original book(s). It is the point. This show is delectable, thank you for putting so much effort into it !❤

@nasirisrarhussain4477: In HOTD it is "War is coming" in every episode. I am tired of that line. They are already at war. What happened at Rook's Rest was war not a party. In GOT it was "Winter is coming".

@williamafton4427: In the books, Hugh Hammer is the Dragonseed who ends up riding Vermithor. In the show, he is the blacksmith who lives with his wife and ill daughter, the one who was promised payment by Aegon, and also the one who tried to leave the city with his family but were prevented by the guards/soldiers. I really hope he's the one who rides Vermithor in the show, as well. He's a bit of an a-hole in the book, though, but seems to be way more decent in the tv series, so far.

Babbling, like Tyrion Lannister during season 8 to Daenarys, that she won't be queen of the ashes? Come on show creators, don't leave me hanging. Tell me how else you will deviate from the action packed, intelligently written story in the books?

@simpletimes2819: people stop complaining.. the show is still amazing..we all complained about character finalities in season 8 of GOT but when they take the time to character build everyone complains..for 1 this show probably won't go past 4 seasons since the story is alot shorter, im sure the dragon scenes take ALOT of the budget for the series. i want to get to D v A as much as all of you.

Wants to be a king, doesn't want to be a king. Wants to be ruthless, doesn't want to be ruthless. Wants to be brutal, doesn't want to be brutal. This is not how building characters supposed to be. The characters are all over the place, confused more than the show writers themselves. Aemond giving Draco Malfoy vibes. The dialogue is on pair with some teenage girls arguing after school. Episode 5 was so boring, i started scrolling on my phone

It makes perfect sense if it's not like the book because in the book, we don't follow the characters directly; we only follow what people say about them, and people are not reliable narrators. Often, the actions described in books are exaggerated by those telling them, just like rumors spread in real life. So YES, it's not like the book, and that makes perfect sense!
