Sometimes one’s ability to bring out the best in their teammates are the greatest players even amongst geniuses. From barou saying isagi and Rin are “one”, Nagi’s comments on Isagis playstyle, Itoshi Sae saying earlier in the match he appreciates isagis “brain”. All the hints are there, Isagi is the heart and soul of Blue lock. MY GOAT

@SomeStrangah543: I think what we got with Sae and Rin’s matchup is how Blue Lock should be, personally. Poor working conditions for 8BIT and overall just how they animate blue lock is what lead to “png lock,” since they focus mostly on just shading rather than movement. Sae and Rin’s matchup is the complete opposite. It takes a much more simpler approach, and focuses much more on movement rather than things like shading, and basically recreating the manga panels. Going forward, I would love to see the animation focus more on the movement and what’s actually happening, since I think it just builds hype better and translates better for the viewer so we know fully what’s happening, rather than just a bunch of still images that look really great. The hype overall was still there during the game, and the animation didn’t hurt that for me one bit, and even though I read the manga years ago, as this arc was coming out, I literally couldn’t stop my heart from racing during that final sequence.

@dhamtom9: A couple extra details from the notes and backstory. Blue Lock mangaka used to draw horror manga so that could explain a few things with Rin art. With Sae and Rin, besides a therapist, Sae thinks that Rin is in his rebel phase and don't think that he hurt his brother. Kunigami explanation is missing as they skip a panel from the manga in season 1. The neo egoist league is epic and the manga is currently finishing that arc. Just in case, blue rose tatto guy will make an Impact in you as he is a favorite in the manga. His voice actor is Light from Death Note.

Cheers to animators for absolutely cooking on this episode, can't have more respect for them as a manga reader, since this goal was probably the most hyped scene in the whole manga. The anime version literally gave me shivers, this has to be the best goal in the series by far, considering the build up and everything.
