Zombificus: Yeah, so these new guns are fictionalised versions of the CETME Ameli LMG ("MG 82"), CETME Model 58 ("C58"), and OTs-02 Kiparis ("OTs-9"). The Ameli, which has been in CoD before (Ghosts & AW), is basically a more modern descendant of the German MG 42 in 5.56 NATO; the in-game name of "MG 82" is obviously a nod to its WW2 ancestor. If you know anything about the MG 42, you'll know this thing's fire rate should be insane, even better than the MG 34, but of course that's going to come with the same constant reloading and need to find ammo that the MG 34 and FiNN already suffer from. Don't know if it'll be meta, but probably beats the M60 at least. The reason both the "C58" and "OTs-9" are described as having limited ammo is because the guns they're based on don't have big magazines either. The Kiparis has 20-round stock mags (mentioned in the patch notes) and 30-round extended mags (probably going to be an attachment) and that's it. From the wording, they seem to be leaning into that by making it a really high-damage, fast-firing weapon instead of just inventing a bigger mag for it. Perhaps they're hoping it will be Cold War's AS Val? The CETME Model 58 is a full-calibre 7.62mm NATO battle rifle, like the FAL and SCAR-H from MW19. Like both of those guns, its stock mag is only 20 rounds, which IRL was usually all it needed due to 7.62mm's harder hitting power compared to 5.56mm. Seems like they're accurately representing that in game: they mention both high close-range damage and high bullet velocity. Stone's SCAR comparison is probably right, since although the CETME is more similar to the FAL IRL, MW19's FAL was semi-auto only. Hopefully it'll be more usable in WZ than the SCAR. CW guns have better mobility than MW guns overall, which is going to help (even a movement speed build of the SCAR is really sluggish), but I think the deciding factors are going to be whether the per-shot damage gives it a competitive TTK, and whether it gets large enough mags to work outside of solos.
