tapan kumar das: This episode was in a way a turning point of her musical journey in Indian Idol. Because in this episode 17 she got her 1st standing ovation ( mausam badal diya) fm judges. It was hard to believe. By then Ashish got it 6 times, SMP, Danish 5 times, pawan 4 times, anjali 3 times & Sawai twice. Even Sayli, anuska & Nihal got it atleast once before her. How demoralising & agonising the whole thing must have been for an immensely talented singer like her. All because of Vishal ji who until episode 17 just would not stand up or had anything complementary to say about her performances. His only comment /advice to her was to improve finesse. He was unabashedly promoting SMP, possibly because her type & style of singing augur well with his genre of composition. He probably believes melodies are passe & in the present age there is no place for it. It was most appalling to see a composer/singer of his repute to be so biased as a judge & almost ruining a budding singer's career. Fortunately Arunita, despite all attempt to sideline her, managed to remain focused, continued to deliver superb performances in her unmatched voice & inimitable expression.It was only after Subhash Ghai ji stood up to complement her, Vishal ji was seen reluctantly standing up & Arunita finally got her 1st Mausam Awesome recognition in episode 17.
