Kouame Komenan: This man feels like the embodiment of the Joker. Other than the fact that he's clearly insane and that creepy smile, he made New York look at itself in disgust and realise how fucked up the community had become.Написать
River: "The victim was an ordinary working girl." Uhhhh... I understand what you're trying to say here, but she was a Bartender, not a prostitute.
Erin Ditterick-Booth: 🌻 Thank you 🌻
anOVERDOSEtypeOF blue: All those neighbors should be charged with murder too
Jason Harris: And the cops came in 3 minutes they could have saved her
Jason Harris: I can’t believe no one called the cops
Tia Davis: He was like a black 'Ted Bundy'!
Jonathon Woodgate: At 16:21, it says “…Crown-appointed attorney”… in New York? Seriously? Shouldn’t it be “State-Appointed”?
Edward Chance: Truly sad
Travis Miller: "I thought it was a lovers quarrel". Even if it was, if I woke up to some girl screaming help and I saw a guy "beating on her", I would of run out and smashed him upside his head regardless. But then again, different times and different people I guess.
Julia Hardman: This is more a case of kitty being gay and the cops not caring because of it. She was so cool and her girlfriend wasn't even allowed to see her body. The cops didn't care because she was a lesbian. And notion of the bystander affect erases the real reason why the cops didn't care
Mel Punks: The first photo of her by herself, did anyone else see what I seen? That photo scares me.
Lee Lorenz: How the hell could he be considered for parole?
Brittany Mansfield: OMFG!! this woman was brutally attacked 3 times for 32 minutes, ànd no one bothered to call 911 until AFTER she was dead?? And that man called a Friend 1st to ask their opinion??? What the heck is wrong with people??? Is stupidity contagious there or something?????? All those ppl shudve been prosecuted for failing to report a crime. ALL of them. Seriously. Stupid kills ppl
dawn murphy: When "good" people do nothing.............!!!
Steven Greenstock: Bystander effect = selfish cowardness of humanity
Bayoneta Babe: I don’t usually comment until I’ve watched the entire video. I’m 13 minutes in and I’m just fuming. Her neighbors are almost as guilty as the killer. If they were scared to go down there when they first saw him then why not when they saw him run off. I mean someone should have called the police immediately. If they went and got her when he left the first time she might not have been in that bad of condition since the one neighbor did at least yell down to him to stop. He then proceeds to just shut his window again instead of running down there and bringing her in the building. If he had just went out or if anyone had just went out the killer wouldn’t have come back because he’s obviously a coward and just wanted to hurt a defenseless woman. He may have ran and got his car but then he’d have fled. He instead gets to come back stab her some more then leave in his car which multiple people saw. I mean he drove away surely someone would go check on her now but of course not and no calls to the police. He gets to come one final time and this time he assaults her and kills her. I guess she was dead since no one called the police until they found her body that morning we may never know exactly when she died. All of her neighbors have blood on their hands for if nothing else not picking up a damn phone and calling for help. I thought their excuses were pathetic and I hope deep down inside that they knew that. I hope they lived the rest of their lives with it eating away at their conscience.
cresshead: march 13th 1964 - friday 13th
Tide Eman: No one helped her at all ? What kind of a community did she live in ? He raped her while he killed her right there while the neighbors hid ?
Grizz Johnson: And people still do the same today except film it, youtube it and then get their 15mins. sometimes you agree with the depopulation agenda... sometimes
Hudson Hayer: man its some sorry ass people that live in new york city smh. Glad I was born and raised in the south.
Max Covfefe: The story about no one calling for help was told in my CPR training class because a herd of people are less likely to act. It's part of "herd mentality" to think "someone else is taking care of this."
christine wright: So sad on many levels, so many victims, It seems easy to vent opinions on the 37 but sometimes we have all closed our eyes and walked by in our lives.
Eric: 16:19 This dude must have been pretty bad to be assigned a crown-appointed lawyer. You don't often see that in NYC
sixbladeknife44: Terribly tragic, but extremely impressive telling of the story and the social implications.
Danny Nnanna: Those neighbors are the scum of the earth I hope they had nightmares till this day and they die dreadfully
Natalia Samborska: This is sad... Those people that didn't help her should be ashamed of themselves... Rip kitty
LongLiveHarryPotter7: They just turned off the lights again?!?! She’d just screamed she’d been stabbed!!! What is wrong with people sometimes?!?
curto berto: Just goes to show how nobody really cares
Logan M: Tbh I'm surprised that you didnt open with the fact that her murder is what made the good Samaritan act a thing
Ashley Trueblood: "Crown appointed attorney"...yeah, we don't have that in the US.
Toasty McGee: Who the fuck doesn't run out to make sure the woman is ok!? At least wait by her side until the ambulance comes! What the fuck is wrong with those people! I hope all of them suffer from guilt. Cowardly sacks of shit.
Ashley Trueblood: Unbelievable that no one actually helped her.
Joia White: Aww, is someone facing the consequences for their actions? Good.
Ochoa Tv: if there was only one man with balls or a gun ot a fucking bat could have saved her
LC _: What the fuck?! What a bunch of cowardly bitches
FALLING DOWN THE STAIRS ALL DAY Joseph Pyles: I’ve already watched this video before, so apparently I need to see it again for no good reason. The neighbors should have been charged with facilitating a murder through callous inaction. How is there not one occupant with a registered fire arm that could have ended the attack? People don’t want to get involved if they could get in trouble for doing illegal things themselves. Maybe illegal immigrants? Drug dealers, sex trafficking? They cared more about their selfish American dreams that it was ok for that bitch to die. You think Trumps wall was crazy… I think we should have walls around every state, or even better, counties. Humans are horrible monsters. Most evil people travel. Make it impossible for them to hop states.
JACK THE RIPPER: New York is still like this everyone minds their business.
S Msabala: Kitty suffered😢😭, this is crazy!
Joseph Runyon: It’s worse today than back in the 1960’s. People today will stand by and record violence, car crashes, and death, rather than help others. It’s truly sad the way society has become.
Paul Ng Paul Ng: What a bunch of useless neighbours without any consciences
Lilybun: 'Kitty Genovese and the Bystanders' would be a sick name for a band
Kyle Ord: Fuck so glad we close to 1mil
Jimmy Jones: May he fry nicely in Hell ....
Collin-Ricardo Campbell: Thé excuses thé witnesses had made me vomit pity they didn’t charge them with negligent homicide
Sevi Regis: Evil lurks, can appear anywhere any time, even someone you know. My mother told me about this story. I never knew who committed this crime. Never rely on others to save you, protect yourself, don’t be in the wrong place at the wrong time where a demon like Moseley could set upon you. Tax dollars paid for that vicious bastard psycho for 52 years before he finally went to Hell. That needs to change, there are far more just ways to deal with such persons.
McKinney: Was it the times? I know that generation was a "mind your own business" kind.
Glenn Wellington: I remember the murder of Kitty Genovese , I lived in NY at the time and couldn't understand how no one bothered to get involved. Imagine being in her shoes for those 32 minutes and no one came to her aid before she finally died......it could have been you.
Wende Smith: I have a vague memory of this episode being used as a storyline in an early Law and Order or maybe NYPD Blue.
dudeistpriestman: 12:32 Mans name is "Swami Vishnu-Devananda". I wear my envy of this openly.
christopher krueger: KAY-n'n, not kuh-NAN
Yograjsingh Thakore: In India Such Situations Are Regularly Reported Even In Current Times, Bystanders Don't Want To Associate With Administration Because Of Rampant Corruption. I Was Personally Threatened By A Police Officer That He Would Charge Me With Random Serious Sections Of Indian Penal Code Simply For Not Bribing Him. Even The Anti-Corruption Agency Engages In Quid Pro Quo. So Many People Are Reluctant TO Report Or Co-operate With Any Investigation Since Overall Trust In Government Machinery Is At The Bottom.
Hoodie mike7: All them people are guilty
L KS: The first autopsy didn’t find six bullets in her…..good lord…!
Saffa: I live in England and remember when this happened, and it coloured my view of New Yorker's for decades.
UCLAJediKnight: why do you say "rape" but then censor the word out? It's so weird.
ant ant: Great fucking neighbors
Mister Bee: He found no pleasure with live women. So he and Bill Cosby have something in common. I wonder if they didn't call because they didn't realize he was stabbing her? That's my vote!
P.G. Mac: I hope that all her neighbours still have sleepless nights even to this day. Can people be so dense!!!!!
Bryan M: .......is our greatest strength.
Mister Bee: That same incident happening today would cause hundreds of 911 calls, maybe 1000 calls depending on population density of the area.
Existential Skism: Byjus app sucks
Li: I hope every single person who at the time watched that poor woman being murdered had suffered nightmares, im not the type to say that but the excuses are disgusting
Penny Bourke: If you see something say something! I can't believe they all never called thats so heartbreaking. I'm surprised they weren't charged with contributing to her death.
Winter Chillz: These people failed poor Katheryn.
FE Rebekah: That intro 🔥
PestyOne: You have one of the only intros that i like. Reminds me of the old childhood rhyme... All around the mulberry bush the monkey chased the weasel, all around the mulberry bush..pop goes the weasel.
Lana Campbell-Moore: Never heard of hIm just Pure Evil🥴Thank You SKD!❤️
Daria B: Haven't y'all ever heard..NEVER yell "Rape! " or "Help!"... always yell "FIRE!!" They will call, come, help. Fascinating and sad really. Thank god that girl died to get 911 available across the world eventually. She didn't die in vain, but it was still unnecessary and avoidable! !
Daria B: Anyone see how feminine he looks? Maybe he was gay, possibly trans, many years ago, there was no name for this, and mostly hatred for gays, maybe he was acting out? It's not unheard of! Anyway, just an observation, wondering if y'all see it in pics also!?
Janet Dear: Sad story, may the victims rest in peace 🙏, great video thanks 🖤
Celeste Collinsworth: I didn't realize that Kitty was his third murder! That most definitely makes him a serial killer
John Bruneau: I'm done watching this guy's stuff...5 minutes of proper research would've told the facts.
Big Steve: Damn the pictures freak me out 😁 missed the premiere ;(
L H: I couldn’t go further than 10 mins. These ‘bystanders’ are disgusting
John Bruneau: The premise of this story is bullshit. Records show over 20 people called police, her death wasn't about public indifference to a woman in trouble, it was about slow police response to a woman in trouble. The NY Times who widely reported this story to show how awful Americans were should be ashamed of themselves. Scumbag media still can't get it right decades later.
NotYourEverydayTrav: (Evil doesn’t just exist in the bad guys, it is laziness, selfishness, and lack of sympathy from everyone, ie: it is everywhere)
John Kristian Aasen: Stupidamerica
John Kristian Aasen: The guy calling a friend in another county asking what to do .... Seriously!!!
Cody Ingram: I wish more people were taught about this case and others like it. So many people (especially young people) see fires and crimes and think other people will handle it. They'll even tell themselves they're doing the police a favor by not clogging up the operators with calls. They have no understanding they aren't unique or clever when thinking that and it's precisely because EVERYONE is thinking that 911 is never called.
SISTAH SISTAH: So the first man they had in prison-I wonder if they beat the confession out of him?
E Ruttan: I would have called the police as I have done it before after hearing a woman being hurt.
Jimmy Noneya: Shame on the people that could have helped this woman. I hope in some way it haunted them until the day they died. It could have been maybe not stopped but at least gave her a fighting chance. Shame on them! With that being said you are crushin' it with these stories! Per usual well put together, very informative & overall great content! Please keep it up.I look forward to each and every one of them!
Panther Platform: Missed the premier again! Thanks a lot late shift...
Jesse Skeffelnuts: My great great grandmother immigrated from Italy, to New York . She was accused of a wicked odd murder late at night and died in jail of a crime she was finally aquited of after her death . Family moved to Boston after that and all of us are NOT in jail
Mitchell Whitehead: If only the victim had been the married couples child.
Lawrence Charnow: I love your documentaries, please do one on H.H. Holmes!
Debra Diament: Honestly I lived in New York and I was attacked by an ex-boyfriend in the street and no one did a thing. It started in a club and they just threw me out on the street with him when I was completely frightened. New Yorkers don’t like to get involved. If that it happened in Los Angeles she would’ve been saved just saying
jhilyard1: Since when was the intro music "Pop Goes the Weasel"?
Mark Etienne: This probably repeats the hoax. Turned it off.
egTUBE: my eyes are fucking with me I thought that was Steve O
TSM: To all the the people in the comments saying "Well I wouldn't have just stood around" and casting judgment on the bystanders (especially with this case, which is a literal perfect case study of the Bystander Effect), you really don't know that. It always pisses me off when I come to these true crime videos and see comments from people sitting at the computers or phones years and years later, saying with a complete lack of irony what *they* would have done or how *they* would have reacted. Bullshit. A tragic thing happened here, for sure, but the keyword is that it *happened*. You cannot change it with your weird self-insert fantasies, so just keep that judgement to yourself and listen to the case.
Joecy Garcia: I remember reading and writing about this in college. So sad and chilling.
jmaxim917: The nerve of him to want a new trial and parole. The death sentence was appropriate.
were wally: My God man how many 911's has this man killed?!
Mournful Mantelope: Best dressed serial killer
BOB P: That’s ridiculous no one even helped her what’s wrong with people. Bunch of chickens. What a creep. To bad he didn’t get hung. Thought back then they put murderers to death
