TheLastHylianTitan: Hot take but this was the worst episode of the season. It really rushed through a lot of major events, almost as if it was trying to cram two or three episodes worth of story into one. And honestly I have a sneaking suspicion that maybe that’s what ended up happening? Between the non-binary character and the romance they have with a lead, and the dark implications of Eda willing to throw away her life because she doesn’t value herself or feel needed, there are themes in this episode that Disney probably didn’t want to really touch upon. This episode reeks of executive meddling. It’s super noticeable because all episodes leading up to this point had great pacing. This one just doesn’t. It feels like it could have seriously benefited with a little more time to each story beat - the intro to Raine Whispers, the BATTs, Eda joining the rebellion - even the intro to bard magic. I think this episode would have been much better as a two parter - but seeing as how Disney likes to censor things they think people won’t be comfy with, I guess it just wasn’t possible. Which is a shame. Because considering how important Raine is to Eda and how unique the BATTs are, they should have gotten more focus and screen time.
