M: I'm sooo happy that Riverdale are finally acknowledging important characters and themes and storylines that have been overlooked. Toni and Fangs for one! So happy they're properly focussing on real issues that sadly the younger generation are still facing and struggling with in this day and age. That for many people it is still a huge thing to realise and reveal their sexuality to their family and friends and to accept and love yourself for who you are. They've touched on it briefly with Kevin this season but I'm glad they're bringing Toni and Fangs into it, they're great characters who deserve more screen time. And I'm glad that they've chosen to show the real truth of the strained relationship Veronica and her father have. Rather than a silly daddy/daughter war...they're dealing with the root of the problem. A daughter who can't help but love her father despite all his wrongdoings and cruelty but continues to suffer because of it and who only wants his love and support and now their relationship is finally at it's breaking point. It is storylines like THESE that made season 1 of riverdale so good!! None of this alien/moth men rubbish. Young adults dealing with real issues and how they struggle to overcome them. The writers seem to be going in the right direction now. Addressing Archie's PTSD from the war Jughead's addictions and alcoholism and therapy in a much more believable way. Betty's obsession with serial killers because of her own father and brother and wanting justice for the murdered girls. Josie and the pussycats (epic episode!) Now Toni and Fangs. And hopefully this is a new turning point for veronica. Just Cheryl and Kevin to go now. But apparently Cheryl is going to be involved with Toni's storyline which is amazing. Hopefully Kevin will have a significant role in this storyline too as he is still struggling to accept himself.
