GoRd0oO: Well as far as we know (by we I mean, as far as the records and research has shown in the lore) is, that women can, and I believe have, to some extent been trained as witchers and to hunt monsters. Although there hasn't been any women that has gone through the trials and survived the transformation into becoming an actual witcher. Which I believe is what they were talking about there, the morality of how they train and the dangera of actually going through the process of becoming one.

rebelxoswald: so women can be trained to be witchers, however, they cannot undergo the trial of the grasses and any who've tried die. i mean as it is not many men survive the process but the trial (in some theory) is believed to be designed for males based on their hormonal composition, not female hormonal composition. its mentioned in one of the first 2 books there's no research for the trial for women, so if male witchers were so low in demand, there'd be no push for research for a trial of the grasses for women. one theory is adrenaline response, males do have a stronger adrenaline response which can help with the physical changes occurring through the trial. there's more but I don't feel like going into more detail, but this basically mostly explains that ciri can technically become a witcher, however, she wouldn't be considered a legitimate one.

Brent Flynn: If Rick hasn't read the actual Witcher novels, only the short stories, then he'll be watching the new season almost as blind as the others. As good as the games are, they are technically fan fiction that use locations and characters from the books occasionally.

Overall it looks so much better than season 1 which I thought started strong but ended meh. Also it’s already renewed for season 3 and they’ve hinted at things that could occur down the line up to season 6 so hopefully the writing does improve over time.
