Kevin Koontz: The problem with ranked is there are two types of players. Claw and 2 thumb. If you make getting to legendary a challenge for claw players you would make it nearly impossible nearly all 2 thumb players to get there. This could cause many 2 thumb players to quit playing and since most people play 2 thumb it could drastically decrease the potential income activision can make from the game.

Jade Fire: Actually, the rank system got a huge change and improvement. The introduction of the rank mode selection was a very good thing. Also Activision announced, that less points will be deducted, if a team mate leaves during the match. I don’t share your opinion that the game will die if it will not become harder to get to legendary. The game will die if players stop having fun while playing. And an extremely try-hard rank system giving the vast majority of players a bad feeling will not encourage to keep playing. I think top players could maybe meet other high class players in the codm esport sector. But ingame it will have to motivate the player base. Demotivated players do not spend money and eventually quit. Activision should offer a game connected esports mode. I really hope, that they will block the use of the Akimbo perk in ranked. As for the release date shortly before Christmas, I think most of us will not travel much, due to the pandemic.
