T D: This is a repost but: The grasshopper has huge symbolism. When Reiner and Bertholdt look over to see what Annie was kicking they see a mangled grasshopper. Grasshoppers in various cultures and religions represent different things, but most commonly are associated with "good luck" and fortune for the world. They either go through complete metamorphosis or incomplete metamorphosis and hatch from larvae, which is like an egg pod or cocoon. In religions such as the Bible, Grasshoppers are metaphors that symbolize the puniness of man when viewed from above. They also never jump backwards or sideways and are always moving/jumping forward, which some interpret as meaning to take a "leap of faith." How ironic is it that titans are huge creatures while humanity are puny in comparison when viewed above by Titans. In this case when Annie, Reiner, and Bert attack the walls the Eldians in the walls are like the grasshoppers who symbolize the puniness of man when viewed from above. Also how ironic is it that grasshoppers are meant as "good luck" and taking a "leap of faith," but in this case, the Paradis Island Operation was a massive fail. How ironic is it that Annie, the one who killed and mangled the grasshopper is in a larvae type cocoon just like grasshoppers when they hatch. I doubt this scene was included trivially and I think Annie killing the grasshopper symbolized how terribly everything went from the start

All The Artsy: The Titan Shifter *might* get the memories of the previous Titan Shifter they ate, or they might not. Eren only started to get Grisha's memories with the help of his journals. Bertholdt, Reiner, Annie and Ymir all didn't get their previous shifter's memories. Porco got some of Ymir's, but none of Marcel's. Armin might have some of Bertholdt's. But it's not guaranteed. Also, the Founding Titan is the only one with perfect memory or knowledge of the world and the origin of the Titan power. And the vow to renounce war is only inherited by people of royal blood who consume the Founding Titan. That's why Eren is able to wield it. He doesn't have royal blood, so he is not held by the promise King Fritz made with the Founding Titan.

Awkward Frank: First, i's really sad that you guys got spoiled. Second, Eren's words didn't only describe his ideals, but it also described Reiner's thought process for why he did what he did when he was a child, even after he knew he wouldn't get his father back and that he wasn't suppose to be chosen as the Armored Titan. The only reason Reiner "pushed his own back" is because he was saved by Marcel and wanted to prove his worth. He wants to kill himself because his wrong-doings were moreso the fault of himself rather than his circumstance and environment, which is what Eren was eluding to when he said that people who push their own backs "see a different hell".

fine: Ymir crushed Marcel essentially killing him before he was able to transform. Eren transformed as only his arm was bitten off and then swallowed whole. We’ve seen Mikasa attempt to kill Reiner and Bertholt by cutting off their heads. So Marcel dying and not transforming makes sense you just have to pay close attention

Gon Freecss: Tbh this was a disappointing episode, they missed a lot of important parts to make the mission more emotional and intense like anime running to the wall while the titans are chasing them, Reiner screaming to switch and low-key panicking without Marcel the leader and adding more depth to Bertdholts thoughts and feeling, overall it got the job done for anime watchers but as a manga reader this episode could have been such a sick episode but become average at best

Earl Gray: If you think about it, Marley sent all 6 of their warriors to Paradis Island by the end of Season 3 Part 2 and lost. I guess they lost because all 6 of them failed to work as a cohesive unit, mainly because Marcel died and Annie is trapped but its still an impressive feat for Eren and stuff.

If you would have figured it out yourself, fine, if not, probably even better. Because this episode is when the author wants you to recognize him, by showing you his face (and in the animes case, voice). The people that told you in the comments straight up spoiled you, no doubt. Highly recommend being more careful with comments (because evidently you can't really know what's a spoiler in the end and what's not) or getting a mod.
