Zero2Champion: Hi Normies, no spoilers here: So here's the thing, Marley had absolutely no reason to invest in teaching their military to use 3ODM gear or how to combat titans (aka anti titan combat) because they had control of most of the titans in the "known" world, in the people they were going to war with, it was "traditional warefare" where instead other nations were developing anti titan cannons and traps in order to FIGHT MARLEY because MARLEY had all the titans. With that being said, as stated in this episode if it was traditional war, Marley is very good at it, but the average HUMAN yet alone soldier doesn't check what's above them all that often and so a squad of spidermen like assassins flying above you with automatic pistols and rocket launchers is extremely hard for Marley to deal with. If you removed Paradis from the map, a KNOWN truth for at least the last 100 years is "RUN AWAY FROM TITANS", Titan shifters win war, titans are the top of the food chain and if you have a titan on your side, its worth a large military. And so with these "known truth" they were ambushed by a group who were trained to destroy what everyone else thought was the "greatest strengths".
