Will Kane: Well just like that "Satella is Emilia's mom" theory got annihilated. Emilia's mom is confirmed human and the whole thing about Satella is that she is a half-elf. To be honest, it didn't even make sense to think that the witch of envy is her mother. We know from Frederica's case that anyone born from a halfling parent is considered a quarter, that's why she is able to leave the barrier while Garfield can't. Since Satella is a half-elf, Emilia would have been quarter elf if her father was human or quarter human if her father was an elf but we know 100% she is half and half.

In Japan it usually plays AFTER the episodes air so I think its safe if you just include it on the beginning of the next episode's reaction. Kadokawa usually release it on their youtube a day after the episode airs then youtubers translates it to English a few hours after it airs. The author said they made Break Time for bits and info that they can't add in the episode due to time constraint. One example of this is in this episode it shows why Echidna has so many leaves in her clothes.

千葉直済: Interesting theory but it was already debunked and Emilia is confirmed not to be Satella but the theory of her being related to the witch of envy still stands since there is a possibility of it happening. In addition to that, just remember that as the author first built the story, the first character he thought of is Emilia not Subaru so ReZero is simply a story about Emilia. She’s the real main character since the plot focuses on her more than Subaru. We are just seeing the story in Subaru’s perspective here. So yeah, anything about Emilia has already been established by author since day 1.

There's no way it's Satella because she was a half-elf just like Emilia. Witch's daughter was just an insult that used to get under Emilia's skin because so many people compared her to the witch until Subaru said he'd love her no matter who she was. We know her aunt is an elf, which makes her father an elf, so for Emilia to be a half elf her mother must be human. If her mother was satella then Emilia would be quarter human and 3/4th elf and the barrier of the sanctuary wouldn’t affect her. If course that’s not saying Emilia has no relation to satella, we just really don’t know anything at all yet and can only come up with crazy ass theories 😁

There's expected to be around 11 or 12 ish arcs so they're doing similar things to AOT with massive foreshadowing and tiny hints to something much bigger but the source material isn't finished yet.

Yes, we currently have no clue if Emilia is a witches daughter or not HOWEVER we know that she isn't THE witch's daughter, as in the witch of envy, since her mother is human. There's a lot of people who just parrot what they've heard from others and just end up spreading misinformation. Also most argue, and I agree, that we shouldn't take what Echidna said at face value because she could very well just have been trying to piss of Emilia. Still wouldn't rule out the possibility though.

Stanet 101: Even the WN readers don't have all the answers, Re Zero raises a lot of questions, it's how it is, since this is going to be an 11 arc series. The anime is on arc 4, and the future arcs are probably gonna take their own seasons so at the end we are looking at like 9 seasons in total. We learn a lot about the characters each arc, and the world, but in terms of like the major overarching plot, we get pieces to the puzzle, but not the entire puzzle. The author said arc 10 will give more details on Emilia's backstory for example. Arc 6 gave a lot of explanations about 400 years ago, the dragon, sage etc, but again raised questions about Emilia and Satella.

Emilia is held withing the sanctuary barrier, and as we've established with Frederica, only those with 50-50 mixed blood are affected by the barrier. So if Emilia's father is a full elf, her mother must be a pure blooded person of some race, probably human. And I could be wrong because we don't know if her father is Fortuna's full brother, because the math will also make sense if both parents are half-elves.

The whole "witch's daughter" was an insult Echidna used to prey on Emilia's insecurities about being compared to the Witch of Envy.
