Jayshree Hore: Diana is such an important and significant chapter of the story, i wish they had casted someone more seasoned and better. Emma kinda overdid the role, coming off as overdramatic and creepy at times. Her act lacked the natural essence that one could find in Claire Foy's performance.

Jayshree Hore: Just finished the season, but have to say Emma as Di was bit of a disappointment to me. I had high hopes after watching the trailer and also the crown generally excells in casting front. But this actress overacted so much so that it turned out to be creepy and just not natural! She has gorgeously similar eyes to Di, but they lacked empathy and kindness that were there in Di's. Especially the engagement scene was creepy af.

Everyone that remembers what already has happened knows that Charles is troubled, and you can't really hate on him for feeling what he feels. Like it's just that kind of generational issue instead.

Mateusz Głogiewicz: I love this season, I’m quite happy they didn’t focus on the wedding itself, as this was already widely covered, inside out, by media and filmmakers all over the world, instead they focused on showing us one story, from different perspectives. Mother, that always has to choose the crown, sacrificing children’s happiness. We always talk about the money they have, power they have - but great power, comes with great responsibility and sometimes I see their life as “golden cage syndrome” - you might have all the jewels, all the money, power, comfort, but they pay ultimate price. Cage will always be the cage, regardless if it’s made of gold. I felt like the royals failed Diana big time, Charles was pushed to get married with her, and she just learned how to dance in their rhythm. It’s really amazing that they didn’t focus on things that do not matter, such as wedding itself, we all know it was the wedding of the century, no need to take our attention from what really matters in that season.

Charles Hamilton: I watch this series partially out of sheer perversity. It’s very similar an experience when one watches “The Sopranos.” You are watching family dynamics of monsters. Grammy monster. Mummy monster. Baby monsters. Ad nauseam. Still, the acting is first rate, the writing delicious yet utterly fictitious, and the superb set design. At least our monster family inhabits a world of enviable beauty. Rule Britannia.

I am getting ready to go into season 2 and I watch 12 hours straight and had a hard time turning it off to go to bed. I would think Netflix is thanking Charles too. Everyone is watching it now. Never had interest in the Royals until Princess Diana came into the family. Fell in love with her and also fell in love with Harry because he just seemed so down to earth even as a child. Harry acted normal. The Queen said she will continue on to her death but that really just might bring the Monarchy down. They need to bring it to the 21st century. Putting Charles in is just not right. He is divorced and very much a cheater. I wish it could be Harry but William is next in line. If changes do not come about and soon there will be no Monarch only in the history books. The Queen bends the rules for her children but not her sister or the people her children marry. Time for her to rest. Time for Charles to be punished for all his wrongdoings. Time for Andrew to stop hiding. And whats with all the services medals? Harry is the only one that fought in a war. His are real medals. And the Queen wants to take his service away. How do you do that when he urged them.

annabel levy: I've never been a follower of the Royals, never found them all that interesting or watched shows about them. But during Covid lockdown we binge-watched "The Crown" and yes, damn it is a good series. Not perfect, but very, very good. But I think this business of "every story goes back to the Queen" is a retcon for the show. That was not true of S2, for example. Princess Margaret had her own stories that were very much about HER, and not how Elizabeth touched on them. I don't like when shows do that, try to tell you things that you know are wrong about the show because you've watched the show and aren't stupid. That said, I look forward so much to this season and I more excited about the portrayal of Diana than I ever was about the actual Diana. This actress seems ideal for the role. And Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher? Wow, seems like perfection. It's a season about women, basically. Yes, Charles is important but it's going to be a female power struggle which is interesting and refreshing.

Rasmus Mogensen: Emma Corrin is a fantastic choice for the role of Diana - but the hairdresser, that tried to imitate Dianas hairstyles, should have been fired and replaced. Just a few of the most simple, early styles where almost allright, but the rest just looked horrible. Like cheap, nylon "Diana wigs" from a costume shop, just pulled out of the bag and popped on the actress. Hard to watch, because Diana had an effortless elegance in everything, including her absolutely iconic hairstyles over the years.

Rhian Hegarty: I'm staying awake for this series opener. I started the show during lock down and binge watched the lot. We all know what happened to thatcher and Diana but to see what side they have to bring to this part of the history of the royal family that hasn't been documented or told one sided this far.... a lot was told in previous episodes that I was unaware of as I have never been fully aware of the Queens involvement in major parts within British history , let alone her own . But it will be so interesting to see how they can dramatise something that in the modern world's eyes (already done so by media and 24 hour news ) exposed us all to and all of a sudden made the royal family so less private than they had ever been in tabloids up until that day . Charles and Diana's castings are out of this world. They're going to bring so much to this. I can't wait.
