I agree with this. Greg analyzed in his mind her reaction to his declaration and expected something more than she liked looking at his face. BTW, Tashia told her she could say, "I love you. " That is not a rule of the Bachelorette. Jason went on to say Greg did not go about leaving the show correctly. It NEVER goes well when a or the front runner leaves... Deanna's Graham, Ali's Frank, Desiree's Brooks, Tayshia's Brandon...Colton's Cassie who badly wanted to leave . This was going to be messy however it happened.

Zzz: don't agree with gregs delivery but he was right and he knew she wouldn't have picked him, he bruised her ego by leaving and having her "on her knees" so she took it out on greg atfr, I mean they just clash together, there was no gaslighting, just an argument between two ex's

Yvonne Barnett: I find it very suspicious that Greg didn’t even mention to Katie he went to acting school. Like, many guys have backgrounds as influencers, musicians etc so why not tell her? Also, he seemed very cool and collected at ATFR for someone who has just lost the love of his life. It seemed like he was ready with that Meryl Streep line. Katie on the other hand maybe didn’t come across as classy and gracious about the breakup but she definitely seemed genuine.

Chrystal Thornton: Blake was the last donut in the box so she had to choose him or go home ringless. Surprised the woke crowd wasn't all over her for sending the black dude home before she had to go to fantasy suite with him. Notice Katie's a "strong woman" which means she has a sharp tongue. Blake better not cross her unless he gets off on scoldings.

Linda F: Ik we don't know everything that happened between them but i do think even then Katie was so cold. The acting thing is just mean and trying to make another person feel bad ; is that not doing a similar thing to what he did? Anyway oh well. I think her feelings were valid but not processed. I consider myself a pretty good reader of energy and yeah she was really into him but i do think he was into her too. Maybe not all the way to the altar but still. Idk. We'll see in the next few months how Gregs personality is eventually. I'm not blaming Katie for anything, she has a right to be upset. But both of them had abandonment and avoidant attachment issues, expressed in different ways.

She came off last season as a nice person but watch out. I think this time she let little truths come out. Her mother was fine but that aunt was pure P***. Who wants to deal with that. Blake is going to get a double dose as time goes on.

L: Sorry, still can’t stand Greg, I truly have no clue how he could go from so monotone and unexcited but then suddenly turns around and is super angry and incredibly rude to Katie. I think the producers have had a major crush on Greg this whole time that they couldn’t stand to have him looking bad after the last episode so they really riled Katie up before AFTR and probably edited out a lot of Greg’s responses. Either way I really hope he isn’t the next bachelor.

Lauren: Katie can both be angry at Greg and in love with Blake. Clearly, Katie and Greg have massive communication issues. Neither of them expressed themselves in the best way. I wish both of them could have done some reflecting. I wonder if the issue of love language could be discussed in this situation. I don't know these people but I think understanding love languages is important. People feel love differently, and in fact, there are five love languages. I highly encourage everyone to look into figuring out their own and even your partners'. Possible theory: I wonder if the producers were hoping for a better reaction from Bachelor Nation with the breakup. That maybe they wanted everyone to side with Greg. He poured his heart out and was vulnerable. Then Katie gives not the best response and that weird montage at the end of the episode? That was just so weird to throw a "relationship montage" with a breakup maybe a proposal but a weird editing choice. Perhaps it was a weird way to see if he could be the next Bachelor? Bachelor Nation seems super divided so maybe not a good choice now.

She obviously cares a ton about Katie and knows what it takes to make a marriage work and knows how hard it is. Because marriage is HARD. I hope she doesn’t get too much flak for her part: she is being honest and trying to make sure her niece and her possible fiancé are being realistic, because she knows once this feeling that “love conquers all” fades, you’re left with life and the person with whom you chose to live it. I’m a fan of Aunt Lindsey and adore how much she obviously cares for and is supportive of her niece. (Not saying Bachelor Fantake said otherwise! I just hope she doesn’t get too much hate for her callous-seeming attitude when I’m pretty sure it’s all out of love.)

Andrew Romero: What I am about to say will not be popular. I don't think Katie Thurston was the right Bachelorette. I think she has her own issues to deal with. I don't think she truly fell for Blake. I think she wanted and still wants it to be Greg. I think she was so overly dramatic in her confrontation with Greg. I do not see Katie and Blake getting married. What do I know, I'm just a guy.

Tait Sawden: We gotta see a video as to why the show edited Greg so well if the lead (being Katie) had such a messy ending with him. Just based on watching the show, I feel that Katie was more in the wrong with how the situation was handled. Based on her “I love you” rule, she may have not been able to reciprocate anything to Greg on his hometown, but she didn’t acknowledge it and left him out to dry and mulled over the situation in the moment. If he was actually Katie’s #1 at that point then it doesn’t make any sense. Her logic doesn’t add up. If Greg “was trying to escape” then how come he was the first to say I love you and that his family told him how great he was doing since his dad passed and all of his other family members Skyped or zoomed in and wished him well? At least based on the show, Greg was in it. Katie was wrong and she never took accountability for how she handled the situation. If she really didn’t feel the same way then okay fine, but she also told him he was her “#1” at that moment. So that’s where the hole in the plot is. She should have at least taken some sort of accountability for that moment. As for Greg, I think he was very much in it for Katie. I think he wanted it. I think that seeing him emotionally shut down and speak down to Katie was not appropriate. This isn’t an excuse, but emotional trauma like the death of someone’s father, especially if it is recent, might want to make someone shut down if they are experiencing adversity from somewhere they usually don’t feel it IMO. Just my thought. Not an excuse though, he should have take accountability for that. And to wrap up my thoughts, thanks for reading, I don’t really think Katie understands the accusation of acting on a show. It’s one thing to accuse someone for being on the show for fame or followers, but to say that his personality was an act and was fake carries so much weight on it. This man’s father died and he said he had his heart filled by Katie. He appeared to be someone very sweet and Katie literally said he was the number one right at the end game. If Katie really said that when Greg left that all of her feelings left with him too, then I have to seriously question that considering he was literally number one right before that and that she was considering quitting the show with her eventual fiancée in the queue. Lots of holes in Katie’s thinking and if she chooses to stick by what she said about Greg faking a personality (which is an unbelievably hostile and toxic thing to say IMO) and that her feelings left was soon as Greg left, then I have to question what she was thinking because it really doesn’t make a lot of sense. I didn’t want to mention this, but I really didn’t appreciate how she was dismissive of someone like Thomas in the show. It takes one moment, one little action, or just the words of others (the other men in the house), to completely and rudely make a mockery of Thomas. She never trusted her gut in that specific situation, she was way too quick to dismiss. And she dismissed Greg in this instance, not in the breakup obviously but in the AFTR. My two cents, thank you for reading. I just think we need a video on why Greg was edited the way he was, especially with the tribute video at the end of the second last episode.

Katy: The timing of all of this is messed up. I'm not convinced it happened this way that we were shown. I'm glad Katie got a happy ending but the structure of this ending is very strange and I can't put my finger on it. That said, Justin is too good of a man to be considered there by default. Both Blake and Justin were good options. Justin deserved more than to be considered the squeaky wheel in this top 4.

Sophie Amanda Leiton Toomey: I don’t understand why people aren’t more mad at Katie for what happened with Justin rather than with Greg. If Katie lead anyone on this season the most, it’s Justin not Greg. He says he feels like he was there by default and honestly I agree with him. I don’t think Katie treated him fairly at all before the final four or now. I’m more disappointed with Katie for how she acted toward Justin than Greg. Especially when she made such a big deal about not saying I love you until the end and then says it to Blake before breaking up with Justin before their date. Like if anything that made me more mad than anything that happened with Greg and if anyone deserves to be angry at Katie and walk out, it should have been Justin not Greg.
