N7 Hotsauce: 1) the red,blue, and yellow lightsaber stances from JA2 had nothing to do in the episode that was a in game mechanic. 2) Luke had spent years tuning his lightsaber to cut through cortosis. The legendary mineral that was extremely difficult to mine and was coveted for its ability to withstand extreme heat and energy. So dicing those dark troopers was easily explainable. 3) And whos to say the dark troopers sensed his approach, when it makes more sense to believe Luke would of made his presence known to buy more time to get to the bridge by using the force to call to the troopers. 4) Luke could of also used 2nd sight a force talent used by Anakin and passed on to Luke to predict an opponent's next move and react accordingly, giving him an almost clairvoyant edge to his talents. These just seem more likely and simpler to explain the scenario that played out in that most epic season finale of The Mandalorian.

You're welcome to do that but don't try and suggest it's fact or even canon. They're Droids with programming appropriate for war - that's it. Simplicity is why Star Wars works and Occam's Razor (the principle that in explaining a thing no more assumptions should be made than are necessary) is why 'making things up' is merely conjecture unless it's introduced as fact via overt explanation / dialogue or explained by another story mechanism. Star Wars isn't Asimov's Foundation - it's the Science Fiction equivalent of Doritos.

BaltimoreJak: I believe the use of Force Crush is huge. It shows that Luke is walking a much greyer line than traditional Jedi. This is echoed in the fact that he takes Grogu as well. Asoka refuses to train him, b/c of his attachment to Mando; however Luke watches the two embrace and shed tears, yet has no issue with the obvious show of mutual affection.

Vulgarr the Viking: I don't think they "sensed" anything. They just communicated a new threat. They clearly operate on some kind of hive AI, that's how they operate so in sync with each other. So when Luke landed in the hanger the troopers outside the bridge turned to defend against him because the ones near the hanger relayed the threat location. There's no magical "force user sensing program".

brussell639: I don't think it had anything to do with the dark troopers being able to sense a force user. I may be wrong. But the simplest answer is they were networked together and were aware that the troops in the docking bay were facing a hostile threat. They were programmed to deal with whoever or whatever posed the greatest threat at that moment. We know Moff Gideon is experimenting with midichlorian blood, so that's why I could be wrong. But I don't think he's that far advanced in his experiments yet.

sl1138utube: No, I don't believe droids can sense the Force by scanning individuals. At least, we haven't seen that in canon yet. The most reasonable explanation would be that the Dark Troopers are connected to the ISB network, and therefore can access a database of the Empire's Most Wanted, in which Luke Skywalker would undoubtedly be #1. Facial/gesture recognition is probably installed everywhere on board ship, just as it would have been throughout the Imperial City on Coruscant, urban hubs, and capital ships, in order to locate these dangerous fugitives. Luke's Jedi hood might be effective in hiding hide himself from sentient beings, but I bet advanced cameras with thermal imaging and gait analyzers would be able to see right through it. We have tech nearly this advanced in our own world. In fact the most logical in-universe reason Luke remained cloaked throughout the battle is probably because of the constant need to remain concealed when in danger of being recorded or seen, by man or robot. It's still a dangerous galaxy even for a Jedi as powerful as Luke. If identified positively, who knows what kind of threat that might pose if the Empire has plans for revenge - I bet we'll hear more about this in season 3.
