Reasoning: • that titan was fighting with a staff • It would make sense to assign the eldest w/ the power, while the other family members would still be able to take care of themselves if the family was ever targeted & the children were all to carefree and playful compared to the combat ability of the white titan shown in the trailer • it would also make sense to assign the eldest the power so the memories inherited reach further back, potentially more detailed and vivid ...plus some other reasons, but those are my key theories.

Matteo Comin: I AM ANIME ONLY SO THIS IS PURE SPECULATION ( sorry for my english ) Btw one thing that the Tybur family and Marley's headquarters don't know, about all this situation, is how important the royal blood is They know that, as long as the founding titan is possesed by a person with royal blood, they would have inherited King Fritz's will so Marley and the entire world would be safe. BUT they still haven't figured out WHY Zeke's so much better than anyone else and can control pure titans because they don't know that he has royal blood and that power/ability comes from it. SO they think that just having the founding titan would be enough for Eren to unleash the colossals while we know that's not the case. He NEEDS to be in physical contact with royal blood (Historia, Dina, Zeke) to control titans. So TECHNICALLY they were worrying for nothing since they don't know that Zeke is royal and since they don't know that Historia exists and is royal too; as far as they know every royal member inside the wall is dead. IF ONLY they knew about this royal blood's property they would have been 100% safe and no war declaration would have been needed
