Richard Renner: The Expanse had better step it up, this episode was pathetic.Написать
James Holland: Great review! Your take on the episode was my exact impression! Well done!
Horny Toads: they changed the shows intro in this episode! or was that done earlier?
Valerio Piccini: I am quite sad about this episode, a filler one with only two now to go in the season. This could have been the best season but I was hoping for more.
Robert Nuebak: So there's no gravity on the ship's but the metal plate was heavy for Naomi to lift? I love this show but that was a huge mistake they made.
Simon C: I’m not sure how things play out in the books, but I’m kind of hoping things pick up in the next few episodes, the intrigue just isn’t really there for the past few eps and things are a little slow (not that I’m not enjoying it). Wonder if they’re going to kill off Alex in some way given what’s happened IRL with Cas...
Notorious Nora: So nobody gonna talk about Alex Kamal being removed? You can't just remove a character unnaturally. It will ruin the immersion for me.
Pimp Poppy: Cas Anvar is let go. WTF?
Pratap Navayan: Naomi and filip storyline should have given minimum screen time . At the end of every season they pace and highlight protomolucule storyline. Downplay during the show. Why? Is it because you know that, without protomolucule line it is just an good tv drama. Why not fill our tummy with good portion of juicy meat and not just dry bread. Do it please.
Ole Olson: Have to say that I'm getting a little worried about this entire production. While I haven't read the books, both seasons 4 and 5 have frankly been slow in my opinion since the show moved to Amazon. Seasons 1-3 were masterpieces with great plot lines that kept unfolding in directions that were difficult to predict. Now the show seems to be based more on drama and the pace has seriously slowed. This is the same feeling I got about GoT when that show started to enter the last 3 seasons. Again, not sure if I'm just reading too much into this, or if there is something wrong, whether it's the writing or directing/producing, but something is amiss.
Ramy Pon: I know the expanse is going for the realistic scifi but I honestly wont complain if Naomi built a power armor from paperclips and dive bombs Marco's ship >_<
Travis Spazz: I do really like this season, but the pacing is crap.
Krogan Baby: I like Drummer but her story line is just not as interesting as the others(okay maybe a little more interesting than Alex and bobby )but I actually prefer if they'd just focus more on the Rocinante crew in this episode.
Y G: I hope we don't end up with a GOT rushed ending.
Kingsevil: I see what you mean saying it's "soft" but the ramifications of a few scenes was worth it: Filip being forced to eat shit in likely the biggest way yet while losing his mother. Camina having to deal with losing Klaes, Fred AND Naomi along with their current position while Oksana figures out, wait, she's alive and so does That Bitch (tm) who hates her guts Earth wanting revenge and warcrimes rather than being rational and almost officially conflating the entire belt with Marco Inaros I think it sets up the pure insanity that's going to be episode 9 and 10. It was definitely a calm-before-the-storm episode. I've come to expect those in any high octane, plot heavy show.
zanbrocal: Looks like the budget for the show had been reduced to the point that the witers had to adapt around it. How else to explain the fact that they downgraded the number of rocks that hit, the casualties, but aslo the damage is only MENTIONNED verbally. We don't see anything!
Mr. Duane Sharpe: They BETTER not GoT the last two episodes. ...and yea you’re right SciFi junkies need to get from under their rocks and start watching AND supporting The Expanse. 🤦🏿♂️.
seb charb: I love The Expanse. I think it's the best sci fi out there. But this episode is the worst of them all. It was long and boring. Plus, there was almost no other side story other than Naomi's message.
Suyash: It should have more episodes.
phil marston: Naomi is a badass. What an episode.
Tarka Jedi: Epic episode!!!!!!!!
The Laughing Man: Feel like shows gonna suffer without Alex. Unfortunate circumstances
Nick Zales: Naomi = boring! Enough of her thin story that is just not interesting.
JR M: This is my favorite season. Very excited to see how they manage to wrap this up in 2 episodes.
Atheist Viking: I can't say I understand why people feel that this season is so superior. So far, and there's only two eps left, I think it's been good but not as good as season 1-3. I would say it's been pretty much on par with season 4 for me. The biggest problem I think is that I'm not that fond of the Naomi/Filip storyline.
_ skyguy _: kind of boring episode, nothing really happened. I kept waiting for something and never came.
Adrian Mendoza: Great review as always
xHTxRaptorF22: No joke, when Marco said "it's your fault" referring to Cyn I lost my shit yelling at the screen. I honestly cant remember a single time a show has made me feel so strongly outside of the Red Wedding in GoT. And I've read the books, but holy shit did that line hit me the wrong way, but that is part of Marco's entire plan. I also don't like how the show has downgraded the effect of the asteroid strikes. In the show they say only a few million died, but in the books it was in the Billions (capital B), and that really helped to put in perspective the amount of damage Marco and Filip have caused. Even counting modern day population numbers, more than a few million would've died in the first strike alone, not to mention the others that hit (near cape town, SA, near D.C., and off the coast of India/ indochina). Atleast if the intro is to be believed that is where the strikes were shown.
Strident Atheist: Love The Expanse, but I agree...all the episodes were spectacular this season, so I guess we were due for a dud....well, not quite a dud, but there's too many parallel story lines. We need a movie now to tie it altogether. But this ending..... strange. She was trying to send a coded message the only way possible? hmm.nnn.. I got a feeling the end of this season won't leave us happy, lol. And, I really didn't see the need for a public pissing scene. We all know what humans need to do, it's just crass to show it visually.
Diego Vasconcellos: Even in a calm episode my anxiety got to the roof. Dominique Tipper was in her full A game here. She passed all her pain and loniness in such a visceral way that I lost my breath. Beatiful. Very few is achieved but rhe final pieces are set for 2 explosives final episodes. Cant wait. What a amazing season, omg
trueharm: 2:21 did you say shot originally?
trueharm: I didnt even notice the rocket had a different colored plume.
Marren B. Cole: I’m so glad to see Naomi get a lot of time this season! Dominique Tipper is such a good actor, it makes it a pleasure to watch.
Wex Wuthor: Whole season is too slow moving story ahead.
solar pixie journals: Wow, this episode is just cementing into the viewer that Naomi is bad ass! They’ve given ample evidence of this but wow.
hellojam100: I've watched seasons 1-3 four times already
hellojam100: Naomi gets the most time and her story is by far the least interesting
Jack D: Assuming the season doesn't shit the bed, unlikely to be sure, this is the weakest episode of the season. Just for how little really happens anywhere outside of Naomi's story.
Etta Eskridge: I am hoping the season wraps up with some attention to the Ring gate. Lets see what happens!!
Rafael Cenatti: This episode was bad, I am getting really tired of Naomi's storyline
Mark Alton: "I saw a case of that Tequila, we may need some of that"
MrChampionchimp: Hol' up 1. Space hero in armour, on a highly capable recognisable warship, with a mixed crew from various groups in space, usually at odds with each other 2. An ancient civilisation, whose technology is left behind as legacy and now used to travel the galaxy , wiped out by a mysterious alien entity 3. A non state actor with a vast network and resources, trying to utilise said technology for his own political motives, attacking governments The Expanse is Mass Effect. Change my mind
Tracy Metherell: So glad there is finally more buzz about The Expanse! It deserves so much more attention than it now receives. I’m patiently waiting for Drummer to become the Pirate Queen!
mbonisi siyakatshana: Season 5 is the worst season ever. Season 1-3 had adrenalin rush every second, well thought of screen lines and thriller. Now it seems as if they changed screen writers and the story line is rubbish. Very slow, it feels like a waste of time. It seems to me there was lack of creativity by the screen writers. So they want to give us boring episodes 1-9; then maybe give us thriller adrenalin 10-13 episodes. What a load of hogwash. Why did they kill off Fred Johnson. He was a good actor
Thomas H: Why is there gravity on the ship where Naomi is trapped? When she fail to lift open the heavy trapdoor, it just fell down again. Could this be a science error in The Expanse?
Gary Wheeler: Closed captioning must be from another unrelated program.
Chris Caragiannis: I hope you're right and this show gets the following it deserves. As a Torontonian I loved seeing a show filmed on location in my home city but the story totally won me over. Can't wait for the final 2 episodes.
mac berry: I was really hoping Naomi's escape wouldn't be similar to the book. Seeing Amos get off Earth is the part I'm looking forward to and now he only has two episodes.
sethraul datta: There is so much story left from the book to wrap up in only 2 episodes! Im also still hung up over the 'realism' of surviving that space jump and the fact that Naomi's vision etc has recovered so quickly from that...that jump was like watching James Bond do something that is 100 times more impossible than anything you would see in a bond film, especially where without plotting a direct line from one airlock to the other mathematically she managed to luck out that her jump trajectory took her straight to the other airlock.... also did Filip lie about Naomi dying, surely he saw her enter the other ship from his viewing angle at the door porthole when he saw her allegedly 'space herself'... Eric seemed too easy to convince to leave Earth...why leave? a couple of belter rocks even if killing a couple hundred million people doesnt make too much difference when Earth has billions of people, its not like Marco destroyed the entire Earth's biosphere with those rocks. Why doesn't Eric relocate to a different part of the planet, and besides in the current crisis he has it good in Baltimore! Not enough space battles...I know shows are supposed to be about characters relationships with each other but on a personal note I want more action and less talk. This is an under-rated show and is one of the very small handful of 'good' shows left...most shows these days were trash even pre-Covid as the writers can't be bothered and now post Covid who knows what the quality will be like...going off a cliff probably. Im glad amazon picking up there show hasn't tainted its quality, its rare to find a show that in its fifth season its as good as or even much better than the first season. But I am disappointed that Alex wont be returning for season 6 with the allegations against him, I think they need to find a good way to write out his character rather than have a new actor portray him in season 6, as re-casting him when we've gotten used to Cas Anvar's look and take on the character - having a new person do it would feel 'out of place'.
Jessica Decker: I remember when it was only you and a very few others covering this show back in the day. Stuck with you through each season. Thank you.
DocKobryn: I love the Amos storyline here. And next week's episode is titled "Winnipesaukee" All I can ask is, "What About Bob?"
sladea19: Lol, Amos "I saw a case of that tequila... maybe we should take some of that."
Bradford Townley: I love how the new episode due each Wednesday actually shows up on Tuesday! But I still don't buy the unprotected spacewalk. "This is space. It does not cooperate."
Shantal: I love your reviews! Season 5 is my absolute favorite. It keeps getting better and better, plus Naomi is a force to be reckoned with. I love how this season highlights how strong women can be when it comes to surviving and protecting their family.
Fernando Mendes: This is Naomi Nagata... Tell James Holden I'm in... Control...
CaptainJimmyy: How is this season is better than before please explain. Are you getting paid by Amazon. This is the worst season and this was the worst episode. The only explanation I have is that they cut the budget down a lot.
comtrend: I've enjoyed Naomis storyline so far, but it's time to give some more screentime for the other characters in the last two episodes.
Opocrious: Yo get the episode a few hours early don't you? C'mon James, you can tell us.
John C: EVERYTIME I see your latest review in my feed, I take a sharp inhalation of breath as I excitedly realise the NEXT episode of 'The Expanse' is available for me to watch!!! Yay!!! Off I go now, to do just that!! PS. Mate I appreciate your work - I find your reviews the most balanced and sensible ones, for any series, available (from Australia).
William: Yeah, we’ve been hounding Drinker for two years to get on The Expanse! 😂
Abdel Karim: Bro, you're always so fast. I'm just starting now.
