Anj Kovo: A PATHEIC EPISODE....Did not like it. In fact I've gone off it. Won't be watching it anymore

Crys: I actually felt genuinely bad for Tech Boy this episode.

6ixpoint5ive: This episode confirmed for me that I have absolutely NO idea what they're trying to do with this show anymore-- and I feel like neither does the creative team behind this show. There's nothing wrong with changing elements of a book to fit the Television or Film medium, it happens, these are different ways to tell stories; but I do feel like if you're going to do an adaptation the heart and soul of the story should remain, even if you must change plot or characters. This feels like an *extremely* loose adaptation now. This is not american gods, it's not the book, it's not the graphic novel, and it's not even the show. I have no idea what this is anymore. Season 1 was pretty phenomenal in its adaptation and where/how it deviated. Season 2, I honestly really enjoyed, it differed in plot from the book, but it captured the soul, themes, and spirit of the book, bringing in new cultures, characters, and stories that felt like how the book would have handled them (the Mad Sweeney, Thor, and Civil Rights episodes are in my top episodes of the whole series!!) This season feels like... I honestly don't even know. It's not narratively doing the book, it's not thematically doing the book, it's not even anything like the first two seasons. It's just characters and places that happened to be named the same running around doing eff all for 10 episodes while Starz makes its money. The book is a slow burn, the last two season were slow burns--- this season isn't even a slow burn, it's a soup that got put a stove that someone forgot to turn on and is now growing bacteria. (Which only makes me more pissed that they fired Nancy. They said it's because 'he didn't appear in the book" ... like, buddy neither does Oshun... they said they wanted to stay more true to the book this season... it is very clear now that they was a lie. I am so disappointed) I'm going to see this show to it's end, because I love Neil Gaiman, I love mythology, I love exploring history and cultures, and narratives about faith, the spirit, and self-discovery, on a societal level and a personal one. Hopefully this show returns to those themes. As of now, it feels like a high school-grade fanfic, hitting topics that are tumblr blog surface level... at best... Such a shame, for something that was so wonderful, engaging, and interesting.

Stephen Ford: Anyone know what the Forgotten Realms Setting for DnD is? The gods sometimes start out as a MORTAL and are then given a God's portfolio. This seems like what they're doing with Tech BOY.

Vallin Vallentine: Nothing has happened this season and frankly I feel like I have given this show enough chances. Entertaining is a requirement not a suggestion.

William Holden: she said Lost make a Gods heart small and cold do you think that their son was Thor I say this because of the way she look at him when he said shadow was his son

G Funk: This slow is really really losing me. Honestly, I look forward to your breakdowns and videos about the episode more than I do the actually show. It’s kinda sad. Loyal fans being let down constantly

Joker D. DopeGod: I thaught it was very enjoyable, though the tech boy stuff is a bit confusing I'm guessing hes "starting" to remember hes past selves, something from last season implies that when he "upgrades" he becomes a different person,so the glitch is hes past selves comi g together. I love Ricky and Ian on screen, everytime it's always fun,and also the actress that plays demeter is very good as a wise, nurturing goddess(sorry dont remember her name ),also the con was very good in love that 70's heist vibe ,all in all great episode in my opinion

Max M.: Maximilian is tyr

Link9876ful: I for once absolutely loved that episode. Yetide Badaki/Bilquis looked stunning in all of her scenes, I really started rooting for her, never would have thought that back in season 1 :D Also, I loved the scam scene and the whole setting of that mental institution. The actors are doing a phenomenal job, I could watch Blythe Danners/Demeters and Ian McShanes/ Wednesdays acting all day long. I am also curious to see more from Bruce Langley/Tech Boy, I love that actor too and I think his story line will come with some more suprises Can't wait for the next episodes, there is not a single plot line I am not interested in as of now!

Brendon LA TOUCHE: does anyone know the name of the song at the end of this episode.... i been searching everywhere....HELP!!!!

Raheen Chapman: So they kept "Salim" who in my opinion was pointless from the start but got rid of "Mr Anansi" who was pivotal.... This episode proved how lost they are with the Salim character...

Keturah Spencer: I was thinking that Maximilian might be a leprechaun it at te very least a trickster of some sort.

Drae Abrahams: These breakdowns are far superior then the other ones I have seen. Good work. Keep it up 👍🏽

Schoeman Smit: I think MO FALE BALEN means to come home but could be very wrong...

enes karakuzu: Gay Salim is asking about Girls for the after death side, this dont make sense, the message is different I guess, the Müslims are always care about heaven for Girls hah? You people you will never understand us, while you insulting our religion why we have to respect you, you dont deserve it

German Bustos: There is not mo fale valem, but portuguese no fale valem which means please don't talk 🍻

Tequila MokkingByrd: I think he was loki tricking tech boy

Sebastian Heston Ranzow: I think Max is Wednesday or maybe even Loki

Mohamed M: I think Bilquis is related to Shadows Mom

Talaa Taleghani: Man, I really miss Mr Nancy. Orlando Jones brought a depth to the show that I truly appreciated, and now the show feels somewhat empty. Just my opinion.

Lisa van den Hoven: I really liked this episode. The heist was really fun, the development of Laura's story is interesting to me, and I am really getting invested in Bilquis. I am feeling a but thrown off by the downward spiral of Technical Boy, because I like the character and actor and it is hard to watch him circle the drain.

M G: I thought Maximillion was another version of Loki and that may be the beginning of Loki working with Wednesday to end the new Gods. This episode was slow. I hope they tie up loose ends before the end of the season. It looked like the season previews showed Laura getting Odin’s spear from the hoard and a “new” leprechaun. Nancy’s character could have flowed with this season if they softened him. Biliquis’ character development is too slow and the introduction of the other old Gods this season was almost for nothing. They should have a role if being introduced. It’s almost like the white walkers and the John Snow theory throughout GOT then the writers disregarding the series buildup of these points at the end 🤷🏽‍♀️

Sifu 7 star Praying Mantis: Yemayah, Yomoja, is my Mother Orisha Esu is my Father. Yemayah is the Mother of the Ocean her face is on Starbucks as the mermaid. she is also helped captive in the Vatican as the black Madonna. You have to watch what you say about our culture because Orishas don't play at All. They are our Ancestors First Arch Angels. Most of them where mortal, the Most high Olifie blessed them for standing up for Righteousness to become an Orisha. Example the story of the Warrior King Shango, the Orisha of Thunder, lightening and 🔥. This is were, the Greeks get the concept of Thor. There is no Thor it's the King Shango. African shared everything with Greeks and greedy Romans. Then they begin to take, still and conquer as there descendants still do to this day. The Orishas will show themselves to All of us soon enough in the events they are yet to come. Lol, this is prophecy that was already written. The Cherubim, guardian of God's throne. The strongest being God has ever created is awaken now. Grandmaster Sifu 7star praying Mantis of the Lion of Judah Dojo. Shalom and Ashe to you all from the All. All is 1 and 1 is all. Become 1 with the all to know all. Knowing without knowing. Master your ancestral spiritual gifts now. We don't have much time left...... Warning comes before destruction, take heed of the messages from the messenger warrior angel. As on Earth as it was in heaven 😇🙏😇. Now who are you, and what was your purpose in heaven. Find that out and find your purpose on Earth. I was the Grandmaster teacher of all the Arch Angels. Who were you........

richard bryans: Loki

Jazmín Sutcliff: TechBoy=baby 😭

Darnell Jeffries: She's missouri means.... They have to show her ..the show me state

Manuel DeJesus: Doesn't the 37 reference in this episode correlate back to the Norse numbers 3 & 7, which Wednesday used by multiplying them to call Shadow earlier in the season during episode 4 (maybe 3). Just another reference to these numbers this season that could mean they're going to be significant this season, maybe?

K. Τ.: I have been watching since season one and every time the series gets worse and worse, It barely makes sense any more... the book was great though.

2 Minutes of Common Sense -: Might be Loki Trickster

User Account: this is disrespectful blasphemous show, unsubscribed.

Seymour Butts: Well here is what Bilquis actually did..first she tells the guards to return to the waters of their birth, then they are suspended in water the same way a baby is suspended by the amniotic fluid of the mothers womb. It's not anti-gravity bro! The old gods seem to represent natural processes.

Christopher Jed: I think the automaton is his origin. Coming back to its womb where he will be reborn. Idk. Lol

MrMidnight972: I got a "Loki" vibe from Maximilian, him being a trickster and all that...

newellgster: Interesting analysis and I'm sorry but I have to do this - it is "MASS" + "uh" + "CHEW" + "sets"... not "TWO" + "sets".....

Pete W: I like several scenes in this episode, mostly for the cinematography and lightings. The *heist* scene looks great. The way they lit McShane in the greenhouse talk between Shadow and Wednesday was phenomenal for me.

Lady: you know that a chanel is good when you don't watch the show, but you never miss the YouTube video. thank you for that 👏

Carlos Banangile: For me this is by far the best episode since the season started.

Hibbs4Prez: We have to remember that Shadow was a conman before he met Wednesday and seemed to have enjoyed all that subterfuge. Obviously he had traits of his dad all along.

S G: I think that the man at the start was technical boys first worshiper and tech boy was made in his image and their memories are somehow possibly by bilquis showing him his own fate.

Rise4ever1250: I love your analysis, by far the best channel for it! When I watch the new episode there is always your new vid on the 2nd screen waiting for me. :)

RhodosGuard: What bothers me, sincerely, and pisses me off to no avail, is how they push some kind of love-story unto Laura and Sweeney. I mean, I understand that they probably mean like "love between friends" when they saye he/she loved her/him, but what kinda fucking tard is that. In the book, I dont think it is revealed that Sweeney killed Laura, but she sees herself being a zombie as a way to redeem how her infedility led to her death and eventually to Shadow joining the world of gods. I feel like her whole story arc is "i have to kill a god to safe my husband" while in the show she somehow seems to be in love with the person that killed her, and that is completely explicitely revealed. Sorry, but to me that's assbackwards. I dunno. Maybe I just like it when stories feature monogamous couples who are in love or at least are honest to their partners about their feelings, but this just feels wrong. I'd rather they killed her then and there, refuse to have Sweeneys blood work with her resurrection and make Cordelia take her place in the story. Or Margerete for all I care. Everyone but this absolute wreckage of a character.

Maura Lee: The only thing I can think of as far as the world fair scenes is that the “war” between the magician and new fangled technology” is another way to illustrate what is happening between the old gods and the new. Just another way to describe this ongoing struggle/battle. The automaton was limited at what it could do (glitchy)comparing that with Technical boy who is right now glitchy. Who will win the battle in the end - old gods- new gods - will have to wait and see.

Z White: I never even considered that there would be a back story for technical boy. Really want to find out more

Leontina Lazureac: 10:01 or Hades tempting Persephone, (Demeter's daughter) with pomegranate seeds.

Sw1zzo TK: just as Wednesday had a totem the automaton is technical boys people believe in it and he just took the form of the inventor

THE M DEN: I loved the scenes with the Orishas and Bilquis, I wonder if we will see the Automaton again in future episodes?, I would love to see the return of Mr Wood in his tree form and Mr Road in this season or season 4, on IMDB for next week's episode it says that we will finally see Danny Trejo as Mr World which I am so excited for, it also mentions Ms World, Tyr and Demeter will also be appearing, I hope they announce/ Renew Season 4 soon.

Diana Prince: For home bale is the translation

The Vin: Technical Boy's glitch or whatever. Wasn't Bilquis, it's World/Wednesday. He's being used again, like the opening. Assume him in the box was a psych/ comfort thing.

The Vin: Max was another version of Wednesday or just another face. His mannerisms, body language, even what he said, seemed exactly like Ian/Wednesday. The cane was Gungnir, looked to have runes on the edge to me. What magician wears war medals? Plus the flask.

hawkdsl: I'm a booker, so this EP just feels like back story that wasn't in the book itself. By the time Shadow gets to Lakeside, that is center stage for the story until near the very end. Laura becoming alive again is a serious deviation, so that will be rather interesting how that plays out. I wont lie though.. I'm watching this because I read the book, which was amazing.. the end is going to blow your mind . But if you started with the show, I can see how you might be ready to bail at this point. The original show runners handled the story really well, mixing in short animations, and "coming to America" shorts in the same way the book actually did. I thought it was an innovative way to adapt a book to the small screen. That's all gone now, which is a shame. I'm sticking with it until the end, and it would be nice if Starz allowed them to finish, even if it's an abbreviated ending.

Croz Raven: So it's Technical Boy once a human or he basically just another representation of technology & invention? 'cause even the greek had one too like "Hephaestus."

Dylan Matthew Neo: Was Zeus in the show American Gods? If it is Zeus is the real husband of Demeter.

Amir Hakopian: really disliked this episode, the show is going down hill.

Jacob Jackson: Shadow moon is "DONAR", this is what broke Odin and why he started this war. When Demeter said "the pain of Loss" it did not refer to her but rather Odin. We all want to think he is Shadowmoon is Baldur but he isnt, he is Donar.

ORION's Diary: I feel like Bilquis and Shadow are Lovers. I don't see a mother son relationship there. He was supposed to get answers from her so wtf happened? I feel like it was a huge let down.

fRaNKiEb0NƎZ: I was right that Odin was pulling another con. Shadow Moon is Baldr from Odin's side and the male Oshun (like worshiped by Cubans) from his mother's side.

CottagePie: Did you happen to see my comment on your last video?

jurmyni cohen: This has turned into garbage. Pure garbage.

Parker: Maximilian reminded me of Loki

Mike The Chicago Critic: To be honest when I first saw it season 1 I honestly was all for the new Gods because the old gods are bloodthirsty who will trick and deceive Humanity just to stay alive and a new modern world and Wednesday is a jerk who would like Zeus himself like to trick and tempt people to join his side to go back to the old days of blood and death of the new gods who I'm not as wholesome as the old ones at least the New Gods are working with Humanity!

kyle albert: I look forward to your breakdown as much as the show itself.

Mike The Chicago Critic: I never read the books but so far this Series has little to no action is more just talking and somewhat mesmerizing effects and to be honest Game of Thrones had luck talking but at least there was action sometimes and clean epic scenes of battle

Mike The Chicago Critic: There is one fact you forgot to mention is that actually Marilyn Manson's character Johan actually had scenes and this was supposed to be his final episode unfortunately due to certain allegations that have been recently alleged Marilyn Manson scenes were cut from this episode and from the cast so we were going to learn about the fate of Johan as to whether or not he survived this or did he caused the explosion

Slam!: So Technical boy is technically part of the Old Gods? I think he will switch sides.

Carson Barr: I have no Easter eggs to reveal or theories to makes, but I just wanted to thank you for reviewing the series. AG is the only show I’m currently watching religiously and your review adds to my knowledge and excitement. 🙏

Beelzebubbles - Hail Satin! Prince of Shiny Fabrics!: Can we take a moment to appreciate how good both Ian McShane & Blythe Danner are looking? They're both nearly 80!

Amanda Meredith: I believe Techno boy went into that space because it’s weirdly a safe space for him. Somehow it makes him feel centered.. 🤔.. that’s my best guess

Average Joe: They lost me after they ditched Neil Gaimans book. The book is a lot of fun but they turned the series into garbage SJW cliches. You would need to do a deep dive into whatever silly trash the pseudo writers try to weave into the once fascinating story.

chito: for those of you disappointed with the show i think it is important to remember this is based (loosely) on a neil gaiman book. if you're not familiar with neil gaiman, his books have very little action, but the genius is his use of language and thoroughness of storytelling. i give the show credit for trying to create the same effect but i also appreciate the level of difficulty of the task at hand. george r r martin and john grisham this is not

ZIGNIMUS: Dude I have prime video and it's not showing up only episode 5 is missing.. I can find it online tho.. like wtf

Kori Jenkins: I didn't realize technical boy was so old. I thought he was created by Mr. World. So does this mean Mr. World was around in the 1800s?

J SiN: ...Cliffhangers, right? 😖

D Day Invader: My only complaint is that its to short!!!! I love your analysis and want more!!!

Matthew Kleiman: The painting featured in the greenhouse is "The Temptation of Eve" by John Roddam Spencer Stanhope. The painting featured in the hotel hallway is "The Sword of Damocles" by Felix Auvray.

Denis Butov: 0:42 yix.in.net

Josh Krisko: I’m not certain how the story of Bilquis and Technical Boy will come to a head, but I do understand why TB on the whole has been losing influence and power and lost his disciple the CEO. Technical boy used to be very important and influential (like in the days when he meets Wednesday at the Burlesque Club). People used to have an attachment to machines bc they did singular but life changing things. Think the cotton gin or telephone. Now people care less about the technology and more what it can bring them- media, advertising, wealth, entertainment, connectivity. Technical boy is becoming less god and more tool. A tool for people to get what they really want and so their devotion goes to the tv shows not the tv itself, to the entertainment, advertising, information and connections, not the computer or smart phone itself. Tech has lost its magic and wonder and people only see it as a tool. People worship war gods but they don’t worship the swords or chariots or tools that allow those wars to happen.

Mr Ghosting: This episode got me really interested in tech boy. Bilquis is growing on me more

Eamsee: I think it is odd that during the dinner scene and strolling scene Shadow and Bilquis never address Technical Boy needing her to "un-do" whatever she did and the whole question of what that exactly was. Tech boy is insistent that he needs to find Bilquis and has to come with Shadow, then he weirds out and runs off, and not a word is mentioned about it?

todd goslin: Not one of my favorite episodes either. Not my favorite season for that matter.

Lekan Drogba: It’s meant to be “Mo fori bale “ which means I bow to you. Not Mo forin balen. They got the Yoruba wrong

aFlicker: Too bad we won’t get any more Johan scene.

captain chaos: This whole season is slow and boring ... seasons 1 and 2 were good

Lekan Drogba: Maximilian is the god of deceit.

Joel Mardini: Moforibale it’s a ritual greeting in where the person lay down or bow their head to the Orishas

Dragon of the west: I think the pain of loss Demeter was eluding to was the death or loss of a child or Baldur. Which is why Shadow is there as a reincarnation of Baldur to sway Demeter.

Tina Feasel: Been waiting all day for this video !!!! THANKS 😊

Mspbrwn77: I thought tech boy was created by the ceo guy

Melissa Smith: Hello Story guide. I sorry, but I miss Sweeney dammit lol. Its good to see that the girl from season 2 is back I was curious about her after their talk in the van.

Mark Marcum: I don't get people that watch the show and say they don't like it. I really enjoy the show and I like that it doesn't follow the book exactly. Thank you for your review after each episode, it kind of completes the experience for me.

Daiyan S.: Great Analysis!!!

Rozhina Taheri: 0:25 nfs.in.net

Jhon Smithy: Is the season good so far? season 2 was a huge let down that i stopped caring for the show, but i want to know if its any good so far.

jAY STORMZ: Story dive I appreciate the love you show this show but season 3 feels like filler literally nothing of real value didn’t happen until the last 2 minutes
