And the next players have to break out Gi Hun out of the prison in Squid game. And overall have to fight the soldiers with their own guns until Hwang Jun Ho tells the front man is his brother. Then it will ultimately be the revelation that will change everything in squid game.

Someone asked how they could possibly top the stakes from the final game in season 1… stating it would be impossible. I disagree. It’s very possible. And the creators know how they captured audiences through season 1’s stakes, so I highly doubt they’d just let this huge part of ALL of the seasons just not happen or be addressed. Here’s how they know they can top season 1’s emotionally charged stakes: The only thing I can think of that would raise the stakes from Gi Hun vs his childhood friend Sang Woo in the final Squid game, would be if somehow the season 3 finale brings In ho and his younger brother into that same arena. Not only would we get to see a higher stakes battle of a man whose last shred of humanity (debatable if that even exists at this point) but we could also see In Ho able to be redeemed in some way, and I doubt that there is any other way to do that. After shooting Jung Bae with zero hesitation, because he knows that will be worse punishment for Gi Hun than outright killing them both, simply to prove his point to Gi Hun that playing the hero is a losing game… I really think the only emotionally higher stakes for season 3 is somehow pitting the two brothers against each other. Especially due to the fact that compared to last season, we had less time to emotionally invest in this season’s characters and the creators know that the final payoff for stretching season 2 into basically part one and part two has to capture the audience emotionally, the way they were captured by their investment into the characters Even Inho vs Gi Hun wouldn’t pay off as much as a finale in which the two brothers who we have emotionally invested in and followed since season 1 It’s also probably the only way we will ever see Inho redeem himself in any way, as he’s absolutely ruthless towards everyone except for his younger brother—who he shoots non-lethally (intentionally. come on. The guy was a cop for decades. There’s nothing you can say to convince me that either brother shot the other in the damn shoulder and actually meant to kill them… and then called captain park to come save his ass once he fell into the ocean) so, redemption for a character we are so invested in can only come to in one way and that way is unfortunately not Gi Hun. It was and always has been through Jun Ho, the only human being that In Ho sees as a human being. He would not have worked so hard through his entire life to keep Jun Ho alive (the kidney he gave him, the shoulder shot and captain park to maintain eyes on him for literal years—when Jun Ho gives up, captain park tells him they should keep searching… why else would he do that? My guess? so he wouldn’t get himself killed by actually finding the island a different way and because the trips out to sea allowed captain park to ensure Jun Ho’s safety to some degree, who else would order that besides big bro In Ho?) if he had lost the last shred of his humanity and you know that will come back around at some point in season 3, more than likely as a finale because of the emotional payoff and highest stakes possible.

@edgarr9495: My prediction for season 3 is that Seong Gi Hun will be brainwashed by the front man. He will be given an opportunity to be part of the elite and control the future squid games. He will decline and have a final battle with the Frontman 001. His armed companions will be able to find the island and help him. When he wins, he will stop the final game. There will be a few more games. Crypto guy will die protecting the woman he got pregnant.The mum will die protecting her son who will survive. The trans guy will survive. The long haired marine will die in honor. The bullied guy will avenge his friend's death and will kill Thanos sidekick. Guard 11 will help the last contestants and will take care of the sick kid in the end and will also be a step mum.. Those non highlighted characters including the greedy old man and the witch will die in a greedy way.

@wlr2015: I think 456 will notice that 001 is the frontman without 001 revealing him self . He’ll get a flashback with grandpa 001 that he died but he never saw him get shoot. Actually almost everything in there is very clear for 456 but director choose the role of “stupid” for him to run one more season. There’s no cap that S2 it’s a flop guys, boring and no sense at some points of the movie 🤷‍♂️

When he gave the speech at the voting maybe he wanted to make Gi-hun realize that people will keep on being greedy and continue to play even if it comes at the cost of others death or worse yet even theirs therefore solidifying his views about the games being morally correct since bar the first game contestants are always given the chance to quit

He'll be ostracized by the rest of the contestants (his actions got a lot of people killed) and the organizers I think will try to hamstring him deliberately in the next games to send a message to the other players "what happens if you try to rebel". I think in desperation he'll offer to split the game's winnings and his own from the last game to sweeten the pot to try and get a no vote but old investor guy will be like "oh sure you got a chance to taste glory and want to deny us that?", and the O side will win. Or they won't believe that he even won and is crazy. The old mother is going to die. I think she'll be paired up with the pregnant woman and will lose on purpose to make sure she makes it through with her child. I think Gi-Hun is going to survive, and the games will be shut down with survivors. His arc will be letting the past go and doing something positive with the money he made and the time and life he has left as a way to honor the people that died in the games.

@jughead18sp: Number 11 will go to where they harvest the organs to rescue the sick girl's father. I think in season 3 there will be prequel episodes featuring the frontman's squid game. He probably was how Gi Hun is but eventually changed and became the game master. It will mirror Gi Hun's journey and it may seem he will go the same path. In the end he eventually had to make a choice and chose the good path and may or may not die as a consequence of it. Series end.

Even Gi-Hun has done almost nothing to stop the games until the end and failed at that even. What plot is left? The brothers meeting and another gun confrontation? I really hope season 3 builds on the characters they introduced.

@-BUGZ-: I was just about to comment that it will definitely be around the fall/autumn because I know they did good on their numbers for season 2, but it coming out during the Holidays took away as many views as it gained because a good amount of people still travel around this time. October til maybe the end of November would be a solid release time.

The way the player version of the frontman looked at Gi-hun’s behavior of sacrifice showed the frontman that Gi-Hun has potential to be the next frontman. All the events that happen to Gi-Hun is molding him into the frontman as Gi-Hun loses everyone he loves while seeing more and more greedy minds. Depending on the events in season 3, Gi-Hun could lean towards the dark side to become the next frontman. He had close relations with Oh Il-Nam in season 1 and he has gotten the liking of the frontman as the frontman chose not to kill him at the end of season 2 but kill his close friend as part of the molding process. The frontman chose to keep Gi-Hun to either torture him or mold him into being the next frontman. I’m only speaking in theory and opinion.

@mitccoo: I have a feeling the tables might turn in S3, with Player 456 and the Front Man swapping sides. The Front Man seemed increasingly regretful about his choices - for example, the pregnant girl reminding him of his wife. It’s possible he could be ‘saved’ by his brother. Additionally, someone in the police must be supporting the games, otherwise, it would be impossible for them to remain hidden for so many years. However, the Front Man had a falling-out with the police after being accused of bribery, so I’ve been wondering how he’s still aligned with them if that’s the case. Meanwhile, Player 456 could grow tired of risking his life to help people who don’t want to be saved and choose to stay in the game, so eventually he might change his position about ending the games. If that happens he might even become the new mastermind. Or could he have already stepped in as the new ‘mastermind’ after Oh Il-nam’s death, with everything else that happened in S2 being a distraction from some greater goal? Maybe he wants to continue Il-nam’s vision but with a more positive spin that benefits the poor more? Notice how in S1, if the majority wanted to leave the game, they went home with nothing, but in S2 the money is split among everyone. I’m not sure if that’s too far-fetched, but I’m expecting a major plot twist in S3 regardless.

He tried to stop games people willingly do and apparently keep on doing in every generation. They are there by free will. Could leave the game too. But they won’t. Then they betray eachother. Maybe observing that will make him realize this too. Maybe the front man will go like “ let’s bet on who will win this and if your person wins I’ll keep you alive “. Hi hun betted on a human with 001 in the end of season 1 too. I always thought he was the one who ran down to help the dying man. But I rewatched it and he didn’t do anything. He agree to the bet with 001. He betted on a human life. It maybe could take years but it has the potential to escalate into betting on the squid games too. Having her baby's daddy present as well as an experienced midwife on hand seems significant enough to factor into the main story somehow. Perhaps her baby gets "harvested" - Shaman woman's curse. Will it indirectly come true? - Organ harvesting operation. Does it reflect how front-man's wife died because she needed a kidney?
