Tywin conscripts 45,000 of these men into battle where Robb Starks kills 20,000 of them and another 10,000 at Oxcross. The surviving 15,000 plus additional levies are left fighting and policing the seven kingdoms and dealing with dumb situations like the Freys. This conflict is 7 years long and majority haven’t seen gone since. It’s all sad when you see them get slaughtered with no quarters in season 8. Most likely all these guys were killed in Kings landing. Probably out of 70,000 only 5000 total Lannisters soldiers would survive. The 5000 are probably the garrison of Lannisport. We saw that Grey Worm wiped out Casterly Rocks. Very few survive the sacking of Kings Landing

Bobby Ricigliano: Virtually the entire series consisted of Lannister soldiers as faceless fodder, killing or being killed. Disposable conscripts, really. This scene is quite brilliant in that Arya is received with hospitality by her sworn enemies. It is really an extension of the earlier plot device where Arya is saved and treated well by Tywin Lannister at Harrenhall.

Christiaan Otter Bailey: I absolutely loved this scene, it shows the humanity and a personal glimpse into the lives of the soldiers...That while technically they are enemies of Arya’s , they don’t subscribe blindly to the politics of those they’re fighting for. Arya recognises this and spares their lives, repaying their hospitality, brilliant scene! 😍
