REY: It think the base is under the battle royale map. i don't know if it mkes sense but in the chapter 2 season 5 trailer when jonesy jumped to the zero point, the screen went upside down making jonesy come from under the ground.

ILuvCheese Ch: Theory: The io was able to get the zeropoint out of the spire before the mothership came and so when the mothershipe broke the spire there was no zero point and the reason the mothership is abducting those pois is because there are io bases underneath them that could be holding the zero point but the motherships sensors cant detect it because of the layors of ground so it is digging up a tiny bit of the ground so its sensors can reach the zero point and tell if its in that base. please notice me:)
