The “wading” part of the place name “Nunawading” is pronounced the same as the word for a duck walking - waddle, or like “wad” as in, “She had a great big wad of money”. I’m not sure if it’s just me, but for the beginning of the word “Nuna”, I’ve always pronounced it like this “Nanna-wadding”, but I’m not sure how locals say it. Nanna-wadding or Nunna-wadding. It’s said so quickly that saying either beginning is not going to be too noticeable. But the second syllable is, and it is always pronounced - wadding, Nunawading. It like they are totally against any type of wadding materials, they will have nun-a-(that)wading in Nunawading!!! Population - 11,876 (census of 2016)

I think we need to educate the public about more current cases because people think these cases are less frequent these days when in fact, these horrible cases have increased. Today's more lenient laws, lack of mental health incarceration facilities, and early parole policies have made society much more dangerous than ever before despite what media wants us to believe.
