Ryan Marshall: Theories as to why this will supposedly be the last season: 1. They will make a new spinoff about "modern times" separating the 20th and 21st centuries essentially since the 1970s - 90s were considered the "glory days" of narco-trafficking 2. They need time for the real drug wars in Mexico to continue so they can cover them after they're over? So maybe just a hiatus? Give the actors a little more time to age too maybe. 3. Safety reasons, being that it's filmed on location in Mexico. Covering modern day mafias/cartels and their abhorrent acts on their own turf as the drug war currently rages on maybe isn't the best idea right now.
