They literally picked up guns that had been sitting for a decade that still worked (including automatic rifles), entire crates of military rations meant to last a long time (they took some but left some because they couldn't finish off 20 zombies with 8 people..? Not to mention military grade technology, vehicles with military grade components, flashlights, clothing, etc. They shouldn't have bothered showing a surplus of MRE's at the military base being left behind if the premise of the season is "We need as much food as possible"
