He diverts all the rage, emotional drive, passion and intensity into his Titan form, but once he is out of the Titan the cold, calculating side is in charge. It seems very affective, but terrifying.

Samuel Sang: Do you still remember in Season 3? Zeke got himself worked up seeing those scouts suicide charging at him. He was angry, none of us knew the real reason why he was mad back then. Now you think Zeke is a traitor, I guess you can also guess why he was mad. Marley let those eldians suicide charge in war, and the Marley will say they die in the name of "Marley". Zeke did not know what is it like on the island, when he saw the scouts charging, He thought they were brainwashed by their government, just like the Marley did. He hates the action of brainwash since that is what his father did to him when he was young. So when he met Eren on the island, he said "You were brainwashed by your father, Someday, Eren, I will come back to save you." Also, after watching this episode, I think you understand what Eren said to Reiner "I am the same as you."

Nicholas Doyle: I think you guys might have misinterpreted Willy's statement to Magath about how it will be Eldian Devils being crushed. Yes he hates his own blood, but he's not saying what he's saying just out of hatred, he's trying to roil Magath and remind him what the world's views of the Eldians are. He's basically saying "Don't go and grow a conscious at this point, you don't deserve to", because like he said, Magath has sent countless Eldians to their death already, to which Magath replies "We're devils too" affirming that they are all same, regardless of being Eldian or Marelyan.

God Usopp: "Where are the blondes?!" Something that needs attention brought to it is the Gate guards. They were Marleyans who were raised hating Eldians, and yet just from the little interactions with the children every day they developed a close bond and care for each of the warrior candidates. They laughed with the kids about Falco and Gabi's relationship troubles, cheered on Falco to become the next armor, and when it really mattered, they spent their final moments trying to protect Gabi, an Eldian, with their lives. They were basically Hannes to the children. It must be said that they are a wonderful example of how hatred is not an absolute barrier that cannot be crossed.

Their last action as soldier is trying to protect one of the kid despite her being child soldier & begging to be put on frontline. This is the stellar writing of Ishiyama that still blow my mind every time i read it. It easy to focus on racist Marleyans because their over the top racist action and comment, but it also easy to miss the fact there is Marleyans, even inside military, that don't discriminate against Eldian. The reason why it is easy to miss because how normal and mundane their action are when dealing with Eldian in private. Commander Magath having private smoke time with Eldian. Marleyans Gatekeeper got invested in love story of two Eldian kids they suppose to watch over. Panzer Unit member having a fight just to get a hug from an Eldian girl. Ishiyama purposefully insert various Marleyans people that behaving normally when they are with Eldian to show us how abnormal the one which isn't. It is exactly what eren is doing now when facing Marley (the monsters), he abandoned his humanity to fight them on their turf and by their rules. Eren come home.

John Dinner: Where are the blondes? I'm sure they're all just laughing it out in some beach, using Annie as a beach ball and forgot to invite Colt. The ost is dope, the CGI is either great or at least passable, but what pumps me the most is when they use the words "devil", it's such a cool parallel when they call them devil on the moment they're actually acting as them. We shrugged it off as lies in the moment, but now, now they ARE devils. Almost like they groomed them to be devils. Not to mention Magath using it too, followed by being no different. "Spawns of the devil" just sounds cool.

He might win! 2) Warhammer Titan (WT) entrance - aha, here comes the new Titan, the fight no longer goes in Eren's favour! 3) Eren punches and pummels the WT mid-transformation - nah, scratch that, Eren got this! 4) WT impales Eren on a spike-> proceeds to counter-attack him together with Marleans ending with AT loosing both hands and the head - erm, nope, Eren totally not getting this! 5) Mikasa appears and nukes the living hell out of WT, the squads starts the assault on Marleans - ok, now he got support from the scouts - the WT is finished for sure! 6) WT rises back up and chasing Mikasa for a while - but it seems unkillable, Marley still in the game? 7) Eren finds out WT's weak spot and picks up the crystallized Lara Tybur - Eren smart, Eren got this! 8) Jaw Titan enters - nope! Galliard with the last minute save! 9) Levi enters - Ok, talk about saves... The tables have turned at least 9 (nine) times within this single episode. I think the table is no longer on the ground, it is suspended in the air, whirling like crazy.

He jumped in with no fear. But the moment he saw an Ackerman? He tried to run. Now he has to face an army of people whose entire military and way of life were built from the ground up for one purpose: to defeat titans. Also keep in mind that Galliard has no practice fighting them. All he has are the horror stories Zeke and Reiner have surely told him. But the people of Paradise have a hundred years of experience. That last shot of all the shadowy soldiers flying around is just breathtaking. These are the devils they created.

I think it's important to note that when Eren punched the warhammer and started beating on her, he clearly wasn't punching the skull, it stayed intact the whole time, he was punching through her jaw and neck to get to whoever was in the nape. The only reason the fight lasted more than 30 seconds is because Eren had no way of knowing about the cord from the foot thing this titan can do. If it worked like any other titan he would've won almost immediately, and would have needed no help in doing so, which he apparently wasn't even sure he was getting judging by his "oh you guys actually came" to Mikasa. His solo mission was executed perfectly save for one completely unprecedented situation: a titan shifter not being in the nape.

JJPLUSKA: How far we've come. Mikasa has always been a bad ass but seeing her take on a brand new titan shifter by herself and being able to completely hold her own against the warhammer titan is bad ass. That plus the fear we see in Porco as the scouts start to converge on him. God this episode was so hype, next sunday can't come fast enough

Luis Nunes: I don't think Eren wanted this. He said it himself, he didn't have any other choice. Willy declared war on Paradis right there, right then. Between the world and his people, Eren chose the latter.

Reu8enofleon: I think this episode is cementing how Eren truly is just like Reiner. He seems to have chosen to push forward with this plan despite reservations from the scouts, Jean, Mikasa etc. The same way Reiner chose to push forward with the founding titan mission despite his comrades wanting to just go home. Since this story seems to love parallels I'd wager Armin was the most against this the same way Annie was the most desperate to go home. Which makes sense because of Armin's personality and values.

Giovanni Queiroz: Hey guys, just stoping by to show my appreciation for this incredible show and to enjoy this event that is every Sunday and Monday with these episodes and your discussions. But, without further ado, let´s jump right into my comment of the week. What fascinates me most about this show, is to see how Isayama describes between perspectives how the cycle of hate continues throughout the history of humanity, and that there is no great evil, although we constantly see cruelty in this world, this is simply human nature and it is up to each individual to choose to follow this path. We see children being indoctrinated to hate and over the years suffering from actions they took based on that hate (Reiner). Eren hating everyone for what was caused to him, and now we see Gabi going through that same path because of Eren. The sad cycle continues... "Where are the blondes" (Colt raises his hand awkwardly), especially my forever great Queen Historia?!
