I mean they told him her last words (that are literally a insider joke) and he laughed for half a sec, but in an extreme pain. Simão Ferreira: Trust : this is just a random thought but eren is always talking about freedom and being free but here we see him just chill in a prison even though he could get out anytime he wants. I think this is because eren always wanted freedom but he forgot that he has to make sacrifices in order to get it and something that made him remember that was sashas death which probably made him in very sad since she was important to him. The fuel of emotion is essential to Eren's actions, and thus to the principles of human behavior. Looking at Eren's attitude towards Hanji, it is clear that he is in dire straits and is motivated by impatience, his own lifespan, or something else. You're telling me the Mid East alliance after having lost a war to Marley will just happily go along with them in destroying Paradis ? The geo-politics of an entire planet is way too complex to just boil down to "everyone hates Eldians so Paradis has no choice but to use the rumbling". This could've been fleshed out greatly but obviously Isayama didn't want to spend the time developing entire nations with their own motivations and such. It would've been epic but again, time consuming.

I'm a manga reader so i'll try, to the best of my capabilities, to not induce Caleb in any way, despite the fact that he is very intelligent and has great perceptive analisys. Here's the question - When you see Eren's response to Zeke's plan 3rd prerogative, of forcing Historia's to bear descandents like livestock, and knowing Eren for his stubourness of opinions and justicialist way of conducting himself, what makes you believe that Eren sides with Zeke's plan currently? What makes Connie beblieve that he knows what's going on through Eren's head, or the arrogance of pretending to know how Eren exteriorizes his feelings and emotions, knowing that you completely understood the mechanism behind the paths and how info throughout time travels through those paths?

So it seems hypocritical to me for the scouts to turn on Eren and almost blame him for Sasha’s death and the few losses of the Marley attack when they were perfectly fine with Erwin taking the same risks with more sacrifice.

Noordeep singh: "Trust" The changes in Eren's character are so huge that we can see it in the past scene which are like 3-4 years old. What all has changed? What changed him so much? We'll find out the answers soon enough but one thing is clear he has changed yet he is the same old Eren we know. He changed because of his believes. He has be chasing freedom as a kid going as far to saying, "If someone takes our freedom. I'll take their freedom." He searched for hope in those years and when he realized there is no hope, he was numb, keeping his anger, sadness, despair all inside him which are overflowing now and then like we saw with Hange. "I'll keep moving forward." Eren is the hope. However, the reality is for Eren his friends are the hope for him. He was broken when he found out Sasha died, he laughed on the 'meat' thing because Sasha is Sasha and then he felt sad that he could do nothing now that pushed him to the edge and he isn't holding his emotions back. If someone is against him now, he will kill them without feeling anything.

All jokes aside, the talk between Mikasa, Armin, Jean and Connie near the end of the episode really hit hard, particularly Jean's "Connie, stop..." line. It's sad to see how it's sinking in for them that they're not all on the same side anymore, and Jean is so afraid of that reality that he didn't want Connie to tell Mikasa about Eren's laugh. He started in the series as an overly confident rival to Eren, and now he's one of the kindest, most innocent people in the crew.

Not only has Eren killed innocent people, Eren also, considering his conversation with Hange is not in a stable state of mind, they should not trust someone like that, before he does anything even more dangerous (like try and start the rumbling which will essentially wipe out humanity, thats the only thing I can see them doing with Zeke)they should kill him or replace him. yazz_ko: TRUST Eren character evolution is just so brilliant. From season 1 the world in aot has evolved so much mostly after discovering the outside world existed. From that moment every single one of the characters we know had to change and face the cruelty of this world. Reiner can't live with his past sins anymore, armin's idealistic ideas are slowly disappearing. Everyone has changed except one, EREN. Since the very beginning of the show Eren hasn't changed at all, he was always this lunatic kid who killed 2 adults to protect a little girl, he promised himself that he would kill them all. A character that hasn't changed from the beginning is paradoxically one of the biggest characters evolution in manga's history. In the first seasons we were following Eren's madness because it was right they were fighting giant monsters after all. Now that the world of aot has changed the same madness 3 seasons later seams really awkward and Eren look alienated. Isayama literally made the hole world of aot change in order for Eren to evolve as a character. But at the same time he hasn't. As he said to Reiner in episode 5, maybe I was born this way. Isayama writing is just genius.

aelis: TRUST If Zeke really wanted to restore the Eldian Empire and believed in the 3-steps-plan, wouldn't he want to have as many children as possible? It would be "easier" for him to have children instead of Historia, but nobody seems to notice this fact. He has also said multiple times during the show that "war is a terrible thing" and during RTS he seemed to still hate his father, so I doubt he "wants" the rumbling to happen much less bring back the Eldian Empire. It makes you wonder what are Zeke's true intentions.

We caught a glimpse of it this episode where Zeke shows Mike's ODM gear (which he also seems to have hidden the existence of from marley) to Madame Azumabito. In revealing the existence of the natural resource for Hizuru, it forced Paradis into the corner of accepting the monopoly trade agreement and potentially pushed Eren into Zeke's arms.

Geostomp: Don’t forget that, as the Marlayian military noted earlier, Titans as a whole are quickly becoming obsolete. Paradis has few resources, no meaningful alliances, and next to understanding of world as a whole. They can’t hope to wage conventional war and even their Titans aren’t enough to make a meaningful impact now. Even when they have the Rumbling, that has a period of relevance before even that becomes obsolete, so even the old threat of MAD would only buy them a few more decades. So Paradis has a potential WMD as their only realistic option to respond to the coming war and increasing pressure to push the button as soon as possible.

Paul Canning: Trust being the main theme of this episode who is really going to benefit from Zekes plan long term? Every party so far seems to have their own agenda between the higher ups in Paradis, Zeke, his followers and their new trade partners. Although Paradis are benefiting short term in this I can't help but feel they are being used. Again. I think Zeke will try and convince Eren to pass his Titan to one of his followers to avoid it being his friends and making it a political issue.

Eren is really only looking to get the Armored and/or Warhammer titans to prevent Mikasa from killing him in SnuSnu... is no one gonna mention Mikasa casually hauling what looks like 3x or more Railroad Rail lengths over one shoulder? Santi Mendoza: When Connie complained about Eren's reaction to Sasha's death, i felt quite frustrated since we, as spectators, saw Eren laughing, followed by clear frustration. However, the other characters don't seem to have spotted that at all. So in my opinion, this is just going down a road where we will know everything, but can't help but watching all our comrades split up because of that "Ghost reaction". Our role as part of the Scouts has ended. The only thing we can do now is put our trust to those who use the truth properly

Nikki: Trust Isayama is a brilliant madlad: he turned the typical Shounen protagonist motto of "never giving up" and "believing in yourself" in Eren and twisted it to it's darkest limit. Eren as a character has...matured, yet in a sense, his core ideals remain the same. That's not an easy accomplishment to be able to write a Shounen main character this way. It is also very much intentional that we are not getting much of Eren's perspective despite having 3 season's worth of hearing his thoughts, Zeke as well, and yet it would seem that both Eren and Zeke are driving the story forward. Fun fact from a Kaji fan: Kaji Yuki actually got depressed when he read and practiced the scripts at his home, to the point where he had frequent messages back and forth with Isayama. His understanding of Eren is just so heartwarming, we are truly blessed to have him as Eren's voice. Bonus recent interview excerpt: Ever since Eren infiltrating Marley, his inside(thoughts) have been less drawn, and he became quite a difficult role...Certainly, his monologues are mostly gone. But, it’s not that I can’t understand him, no, instead all I could do was understanding him. When I was reading the reader’s predictions and thoughts, I saw quite a lot of people who said “Ah, I don’t understand Eren anymore”. Even, Isayama-sensei too once said “I don’t understand Eren”. Of course, to know what kind of thinking that surrounds his(Eren’s) mind, you just have to continue reading it until the end, but aside from that, I really understand his true feelings so I have nothing to be worried.

Alvaniel: "Trust" Or the lack of it. The truth is - no one seems to believe or to have trust in anyone in this scenario. The kids (Gabi and Falco) learned that their idol is a traitor, captured Marleyans were deemed untrustworthy and held at gunpoint, Hange struggles to be a good commander and thinks trusting her with that responsibility was a mistake, the military brass as always mistrusts everyone but themselves and only Zeke, Armin and Mikasa seem to be trusting Eren in any capacity, even minor characters such as Niccolo have some trust issues after recent events. And all that beautifully contrasted with flashbacks of friendship and willingness to give up on one's life in order to save the rest from such fate. In situations like that two things are certain. Someone will eventually break and blood will be spilled. And you? Who do you trust, if anyone?

Dragon Diver: I seriously recommend Caleb to read chapters 107-108 of the manga. The politics are surface level in this episode compared to the manga. A lot of dialogue got cut to fit into the episode. Manga has a lot better written politics, everything is better explained with more informations. It's the same case with the Uprising arc. Manga helps understand the political situation on Paradis and all the side's objectives a lot better than the anime.

De almeida Branco neto: *TRUST*: Fun fact that is never brought up in the anime nor the manga, is the "mark" of the jaeger family's titans: the elf ears Notice how the elf ears ONLY appears in Grisha's and Eren's Attack Titans and Zeke's Beast titan. It's nothing too important, but it's one of the examples that shows you the consistency of Hajime Isayama's writing. Also, ANOTHER FACT to keep in mind is that AOT'S ANIME HAS A LOT OF PLOT HOLES THAT WERE NOT PRESENT IN THE MANGA. That mostly boils down to the staff not being able to distinguish what's an important set up and what is content that can be cut (can't tell you examples because of spoilers). But other times they just ADD stuff that contradicts future events (Ex: Eren's "berserk titan", Annie's "fusion ability", Falco's contact with future paths in the start of season 4, etc.). Just something to keep in mind.

Windsaw: I always wondered why Eren and Zeke didn't put into action whatever they were planning back when they met in Marley. I've got some possible ideas, but all of them rather vague. IIRC neither the anime nor the manga ever explained or I missed something.

Arif Arkan: I feel upset a bit with Hanji, she is acting a coward when she had no solutions either. Ofc she is not Erwin, who has better thought, and maybe something bigger as planned like he does base on his experience. Eren act because he knows maybe in the future he doesn't have any choice, while others don't have solutions either. The only thing moves now or die later. Also, Armin just wants to reach the dialogue things and way of peace while the outside world wants to seek and destroy Paradi. Of the way, they act they have not many solutions for that. All The Artsy: When I watch this episode (or any from this season), I never worry about the timeline. It always is immediately obvious. I'm not alone, I know it. Is watching for reaction just that much of a toll that that becomes difficult? I genuinely wonder how more (and less) confused they would be if they just watched on their own time.

Tell me, Hanji! if you've got something up your sleeve, let's hear it! ↑↑ since translator picked a wrong SUBJECT "you" instead of "we", it sounds like Eren is talking about "keeping him in jail". if sub was "if we've got something up our sleeve, let's hear it!" it made more sense / that's what Eren's saying. it's the most common mistake translators make（wrong SUBJECT）I see that everywhere and it changes entire meaning of the conversation.
