Chadical: Overall, in my opinion this season had two decent episodes (2 & 3) and three excellent ones (8-10). All the rest were irredeemable hot garbage. If they had just released those five episodes as the entire season I would have been fine with it. ...Versus having to sit through five terrible train wrecks left wondering what is going on.

Kalidenza: Rick has ended his toxic relationship with his fans, but then ruins it again by the end of ep10.

Arcturion Blade: Agreed that this season has been a roller coaster of highs and lows. The Thanksgiving turkey episode was the height of hilarious randomness alongside the duplicate families episode. Bird Person's episode was a tear jerker as was Planetina but other episodes like Gotron and the Sticky sperm episodes were the low points. The season finale two-parter was interesting but seemed to lack a bit of punch of past season finales for some reason. It felt like Evil Morty was shoehorned in and resolved just for the sake of finally tying up that loose end and while I liked that he won and got what he wanted, it lacked emotional oomph for me. Season five was ultimately enjoyable but schizophrenic in a way that past seasons weren't to me. Still, looking forward to season six!

I remember a popular theory was that Evil Morty was Rick’s original that was abandoned in some timeline and came back seeking revenge but it appears that isn’t the case. 🤔 I hope they do an origin story episode for Evil Morty

Nidhin James: I love this season, however, I feel it would have been way better had they focused on evil Morty's Origin story and the finale being the standoff between the Rickest Rick and Mortiest Morty. To many more adventures to come! Thrilled for the next season!

simmsquee: So let me see if I got this right....The Citadel of Ricks created a Sacred Timeline where only Ricks who are the smartest person in the Universe get to exist (Wow that's so Loki/MCU Phase 4 it would seem planned if they hadn't been working on this for ages before the Disney+ shows came out!) "Evil" Morty killed countless Ricks and Mortys in order to use all of the remaining portal fluid and their souls to open up a black hole to a universe outside of the Sacred (SacRick?) Timeline. But now almost all the Mortys are dead and only our Rick remains in the world of the series, plus all the portal gun fluid is gone. YIKES.

Robert B: Not the best season. Only the last two episodes are on par with the rest of the seasons. Quality over quantity, the writers took most of this season off.

betterine: At a simpler level the episode did a few cool things: 1) nerf rick so it's more exciting 2) eliminate the multiverse (or the subset of the multiverse that is the CFC) so that A: Future entries are relatively more episodic as opposed to overarching, and B: the main Rick and Morty are now "special"/"unique" which raises the stakes and has a whole lot of cool narrative and character developmental implications. Idk that's what I thought anyway.

BitDuelist: Loved the video, Season 5 is pretty great but they need to callback to previous things more often. Rick and Morty should remain episodic but with more character development and a hint of serialisation. IMO the stories having been getting too rushed as they are only 20 minute episodes and the earlier episodes of R&M seasons had way better pacing . The series has gotten really popular as being the show where anything can happen but because of that, the newer episodes have started to put more things in which results in the episodes feeling rushed. The finale was awesome and I think C-137 Rick having no big backstory with Evil Morty makes him more terrifying as a villain because everything is impersonal to him.

Bruno Vale Fernandes: Before I start the video, I just want to say that the Central Finite Curve looks a lot like The Bleed from DC Comics, and seeing that Evil Morty used a blender for Morties and used the blood to power the ship to travel made me wonder if it was really a reference.
